For reference, you might want to listen the DJ Shadow's album version. Totally different feel. Both are marvelous.

Also, the MachineDrum remix of this track is pretty good.

Agreed. Great track. But this remix really confused me. The backing is another DJS track - 'Walkie Talkie', which seems to be just pasted in its entirety (including mismatched out-of-key bass stab). It has other elements added, but still...

Classic 🔥 Endtroducing was the first Shadow album I remember listening to. By the time The Private Press came out, I was already hip to the DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist game, so I was anxiously awaiting its release. Still have the vinyl LP. ❤️💯

Dj Shadow is amazing. Though the remix detracted from this one rather than added to it. Shadow would be a great artist to dive into. A ton of unique stuff. Just so you know, his album "Endtroducing..." was the first album created completely from samples. He has complete albums that just run nonstop. Check out his work with Cut Chemist.. Brainfreeze , Product Placement, The Hard Sell. They might be too long for reactions, but you should still give them a listen. Also check out the live video of him, Cut Chemist, and DJ NuMark performing "Pushin Buttons" Plus everyone below has given great suggestions as well!

@ Rob Leffler: I agree that "Endtroducing . . . " is a phenomenal album, but I don't think it was the first album created from samples . . . . . . I believe that honour belongs to the DJ duo Coldcut, and their 1997 album "Let Us Play". . . . If you haven't, I recommend you check them out . . . Way ahead of their time. . . . Here's a sample: the track "More Bits And Pieces : kzbin.info/www/bejne/nH7Nk4pvas-rj9k

@@dudemandingoselectroacoust5689 I'll check them out, but "Endtroducing...." which was recorded from 1994-1996, released in 1996 edging out "Let Us Play" by about 51 weeks. And it's also cited in the Guinness Book of World Records as the first album completely constructed of samples. But I am still gonna check that album out! Thanks for the tip!

Colonel Bagshot - "Six Day War," 70s song written about the Six Day War between Israel and primarily Egypt, but also Jordan, Syria with air support from Lebanon, Iraq and Saudi Arabia. Leading to the war, Israel stated that closing the Straits of Tiran to Israeli shipping would be tantamount to declaring war. Egypt did just that and anticipating attack, moved troops into the Sinai Peninsula. Israel attacked Egyptian forces in a surprise attack they first claimed was retaliatory, then said was a pre-emptive strike because they feared Egypt was going to invade. The war resulted in the expansion of Israel, taking the Golan Heights from Syria, the West Bank from Jordan, and occupying the Sinai, which was returned to Egypt in 1979.

It's about the conflict between Israel and Jordan, Syria and Egypt that happened in 1967. The war lasted six days with Israel winning it. The conflict is also known as the Third Arab-Israeli War. The 1st, 2nd and 4th verses and the chorus here are sampled from the song "Six Day War" by Colonel Bagshot
