My favorite Duran Duran song. The bass from John Taylor is fire and hot AF Roger Taylor slays it on drums. The band at absolute synthpop perfection. This song was Duran Duran’s first #1 song in their native UK and was such a huge smash it actually debuted in the #1 position on the UK singles chart. It was also a huge hit in the US as well where it hit #4 on the Billboard US Hot 100 Singles Chart.

John Taylor gets "mainstream" notoriety for his bass playing primarily on Duran Duran's Rio & Girls On Film. However, Duran Duran fans, Taylor's peers & musicians understand that there are a ton of Duran Duran songs that are impressive when it comes to Taylor's bass playing. And, of course, "Is There Something I Should Know?" is another bass masterpiece, especially the 12" Monster Mix version of this song. An absolute delight all-around sonically. I love the Beatlesesque harmonies that Simon Le Bon sings throughout the track.

The official video is not a good choice for reactors since it contains some nudity, but boy if you want artistry and poetry all wrapped up with amazing sound, that's your song!
