Classy move by Sir Elton to agree to entertain at Rush Limbaugh's wedding for his wife because he was her favorite entertainer. Rush agreed to pay a huge sum to Elton's favorite charity in return.

Nobody can sing this song as good as the original singer Elton John and this is one of his classic hits. Another old song(from the 60's) that many singers have covered is called Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon And Garfunkel. Hope you can check it out sometime. Art Garfunkel is the lead singer for this song. He is the taller guy and Paul Simon the shorter one.

This was my one of my first Albums I bought as a teenager, you should put on "Goodbye Norma Jeane" about Marilyn Monroe,its one of the best songs on the album.I think they have a live version too. Thanks,Love your channel ,Keep it up!!! AAA+++

The story behind this song is... In the early to mid 70s, Elton was big on lots of alcohol and an assortment of illegal drugs. Elton didnt write lyrics. His friend Bernie Taupon wrote the lyrics, and Elton set them to music. This song is about Bernie giving up on Elton and the mess he had became. So, he wrote this and went back to the farm. Elton eventually went into a drug rehab center. Bernie found out, and as soon as Elton was sober, they teamed up again. The rest is musical history.

Just a note here. There have been a few covers of this song done and I’ve seen a lot of hype about Angelina’s cover, but the only one that has drawn a strong reaction from Elton himself is Sara Barailles’s version which resulted in him duetting live with her on her song “Gravity” because in his words “she made it (GBYBR) her own”. Angelina did a cover of Sara’s rendition but without the artistry and with vocal techniques learned from Ellie Goulding, Lorde and others of that generation. Nothing new, spectacular or different at all in her delivery. Boring.
