“This is Dre!? Cause he wasn’t rapping like this in the last one”. That’s cause Eminem didn’t write that one😂This is pure Eminem influence, cadence and lyrics. He wrote this track as a gift to Dre cause of how people were acting towards him at that time. And yes, he wrote the whole thing.

'cadence' you can not right someone's cadence that goes from the rapper himself. Dre is still an outstanding rapper. He still has a job of getting the cadence right, flows right, delivery right, tones right etc. People act like the guy can only rap cause people write for him which is bull shit.

Dre was one of the OG's of rap back in the late 80s early 90s. He got big and stepped back from rapping himself for a while and focused on his record label. He got accused of going soft and being irrelevant, old news basically. This song was a response to his critics. Basically one big "F you" to the people that forgot how he was one of the original architects of rap and hip hop's rise to the top

@@albertbravo1716 no, the type of rap you're going on about was all about dance hall and live turn table events and maybe......maybe one local radio station who occasionally played hip-hop. NWA, the groups that formed after their breakup, and the franchising the industry into what became rap and hiphop of the 90s and 20 years after.....then yes OGs. No they didn't invite rap, but they did do EVERYTHING else.

@@toomanyadds you have no idea what you're talking about at all. I'm from the Bronx, there was hip hop on the radio way before NWA. Where do you think they got the idea to rap? They did nothing but add their own style to what had been out for over a decade.
@toomanyadds
@toomanyadds 4 жыл бұрын
@@albertbravo1716 Thats cute... Before Rapper's Delight, there was NO rap in the mainstream, shit there wasn't even a "mainstream" to speak of. In fact when Sugarhill records were hunting for "rappers" non of the DJ or MCs wanted in as the belief was that you couldn't make rap for radio. NWA and other artists like Ice T, MC Hammer, and the Digital Underground all laid the ground work of making a mainstream of hip hop and rap. So yes he is an OG, did he invent rap? No, but your claim at a minimum is ignorant and disrespectful. If anything you're exposing yourself as either bias to the history of hip hop and or having no knowledge of a culture that has some of it's deepest roots in your home town.

Life’s too short to be uptight about these things.

@@elsac1739 What's actually "heartbreaking" about this is how many young people (like these nice kids) think it's okay and normal to hear obscene lyrics produced by so-called "musical artists" who no longer sing, play instruments, or read/write music, whose reputations are often based on prison-experience and how many times they've been shot, whose main cause of death statistically, is murder. Not to mention the common themes of explicit sex/drugs/violence with all the typical racist & sexist terminology. My brother (6’6 meathead, “which way to the gym?” white boy” used to walk into whatever bar had karaoke, and put a slip in, they’d call his name, and he’d get up there, grab the 🎤, and walk the entire bar and do that entire song! He knew every word. Didn’t need the screens and words to follow. Didn’t matter if it was an older crowd, or a country bar...didn’t matter. He’d have the entire bar’s attention, and people would be dancing and singing and clapping along. That was him man! He was always the life of the party! Everyone that met him instantly loved him! His energy was contagious, and to me, he was invincible! Unfortunately, he died way too young at the age of 34. But Dre produced Eminem, wrote for NWA and his own solo career. Not like Dre can't write. Plus, I think they're more surprised with his ability to rap; they obviously didn't know about that. I love these guys!

Agreed, Royce did write a lot of that album. Dre has his beats and his voice, the origin doesn't bother me when it comes to Dre. I was thinking about this yesterday as I was listening to Kendrick Lamar's "The Recipe." Dre absolutely killed that track. I said Kendrick probably wrote that for him. lol

You have to watch the movie "Straight Out of Compton" To understand and get context for rap, nwa, dre, ice cube, etc. You go back to the 80's. If this video blowed your mind your will see it's because dre didn't just get in this thing....✌🏾❤

Dre is one of the founding members of NWA, they made the movie Straight out of Compton based on their fairly short-lived success, which led on to the solo careers of Dr. Dre, Easy E and Ice Cube. Not sure if it is family friendly enough to react to any of the songs off of Straight Out of Compton, but it was a bad ass album and the title track was killer! Easy E's Easy Does It is another great album but again, not family friendly. Hope you guys get a chance to check out some of their songs!! Peace!!!

I’ve been begging! I want them to see where all these rappers these days got some of their inspiration from. If they got a chance to even talk to a few of them, they would def name these old school rappers and agree that rap styles were so different based on what coast you represented. So much history goes into it. I just know they would appreciate the lyrics so much more and understanding them fully if they learned the stories behind it.
