Try a Frozen Serenade, you'll hate it, lol! Actually it's regarded as a Masterpiece. Most bands would be happy to write one or two masterpieces in a career (the Stairway to Heaven/ Bohemian Rhapsody sort of moment), Lovebites produce them in multiple, and keep outdoing even their own perfectionist standards. Thanks for this great reaction, Empty Daydream is one of my favourite tracks.

Not bad singing for a 2nd language eh. 🙂 And yes, the one and only Miyako; an absolute virtuoso who should be known globally at this point; you saw her extraordinary abilities on Swan Song w/Chopin intro. Lovebites can do it all and they should be known around the world as well! No one does music / metal like they do and I love the fact that Asami's not a growler as I don't think that type of vocals would fit with Lovebites (just my thoughts). Keep going this path, not a bad song by Lovebites! Suggest some of their power metal, all are amazing with next level playing and worth checking out one of their MVs. Great review!! I don't think Wolfpack mind how you call the musicians as long as you assess Lovebites fairly. They got influences from all the major bands such as Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeath, Angra and others, and Lovebites will be the authentic metal band in the future.

in your long remaining journey of lovebites, still great things to discover, this riff is from Michael Jackson song: Beat It, just a consideration avoid bloodstock footage because it miss almost 1 audio channel... but it will be a "Educative" exercise to see what are they made of, because when playing Don't bite the dust miho adjust her console by herself, lovebites are a real thing =)

Loving your reactions. To find the riff you're struggling to locate I suggest you listen to MJ's "Beat It". I believe Eddie Van Halen had something to do with it 😁. Although I think there is another link between that song and Miyako. Thank you for holding back on the desire to listen to LB so that we can experience your journey with you. It shows the breadth of their talent that their songs keep on exposing new elements of what they can do. You're doing good with their names. Perhaps you should peek at the end of the Ride For Vengeance 2021 show where Asami introduce themselves by name and you can then see how they pronounce them. 🤘🤘🤘

Midori and Miyako were on a two-part episode of a KZbin series called Rock Fujiyama where one of the hosts is Marty Friedman. The first part was Midori talking about her five favorite guitarists, and the second part was Miyako doing the same. One of Miyako's favorites was Jennifer Batten, Michael Jackson's live guitarist for roughly a decade. While Jennifer wasn''t on the "Thriller" album, Michael does have a rich history of playing live in Japan during Jennifer's time in his band. I have no doubt Miyako saw Jennifer play "Beat It" live one way or another. Regarding the backing vocals, I feel like this performance might be the only time Miho and Miyako both sang. On their next live, "Invitation to the Theater," the song is closer to the studio version and the backing vocals are so low in the mix that it's hard to tell if it's both ladies or just Miyako. This video, the version from "Daughters of the Dawn," is the superior version of this song.

LOVEBITES - Empty Daydream lyrics: Memories I can’t erase still haunting me Silently you stare with cold, empty eyes Falling down Breaking heart A growing addiction Just let me go away Just let me go my way Just let me go, I won’t become a doll you control I’m losing sight of me I’m losing sight of you I’m losing sanity and I don’t know how I will go on Nothing new, pretending not to know the truth Rendezvous, without emotion or heart I won’t show how weak and sad I am inside Even though I know it’s just silly pride Empty room Endless rain The end of a daydream You never call my name You never feel the same You never make me feel like I deserve any love I’m waiting for the dawn I’m waiting for the time I’m waiting for my bleeding heart to heal, so I can go on Memories I can’t erase still haunting me Silently you stare with cold, empty eyes Falling down Breaking heart A growing addiction Empty room Endless rain The end of a daydream Just let me go away Just let me go my way Just let me go, I won’t become a doll you control I’m losing sight of me I’m losing sight of you I’m losing sanity and I don’t know how I will… You never call my name You never feel the same You never make me feel like I deserve any love I’m waiting for the dawn I’m waiting for the time I’m waiting for my bleeding heart to heal, so I can go on ----- lyrics: asami music: miyako arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami)

The riff you've been talking about so many times is from one of the world's "King of Pops" masterpieces. This riff seems to be Miyako's favorite, and when Midori and Miyako appeared on a Japanese program, Miyako herself talked about this riff. This is a song that uses her "playfulness".

And one more thing... Besides you, many people, including myself, are addicted to love bites. I think the reason for this is that all these songs have "surprise" and "completely different colors". Every time I listen to the music of Love Bites, I am always surprised, moved, calmed and uplifted... Anyway, every time there is a "new discovery", we fall into the deep hole of love bites.

Their catalog is about 50 original songs (just two excellent covers) and practically no fillers; they’re that good. I discovered this band two and a half years ago and I’m still in owe. Yes, they’re mostly thrash/power/heavy metal band but as real musicians they’re so versatile. In general, I like Miyako’s piano playing and Asami’s vocals. Another excellent song I really recommend is “Epilogue” live (nice piano, nice vocals, nice guitars, nice everything). For more different styles they play my suggestions are “Glory to the world”, “Winds of Transylvania”, “Edge of the world”, “Frozen serenade”, “Spellbound”, “Dancing with the devil” (all live, but the first two have a great MV).

Studio version of this does not have the piano intro or the beautiful vocal part with Miyako and Asami. That is what I love about Lovebites. They will throw an intro to a song into their live performance. They did the same for Sawn Song by adding Frédéric François Chopin Piano Etude OP 12 No 10 with Miyako on Piano. Not to mention the live performance sounds better than the album. They are one of the best live bands. A lot of those influences you cite are good ones. They were definitely influenced by Iron Maiden, especially ex-bassist and founder Rosana Miho. I can here a lot of Metallica and Slayer influence with them too. Midori and Miyako are different enough to provide uniqueness in their parts but still compliment each other. Their harmonization is among the best I have heard. Asami was a trained R&B singer and she shows that in this song. Great showcase of her voice. Another song I love is Dancing with the Devil. It has a nice driving blues rock feel. kzbin.info/www/bejne/o3uqmH98ibWAe5o Haruna, the youngest member of the band. What more can I say except that "I want alternate drum cam view." Drummers can be so much fun to watch. She is a technician who had speed and power. Plus she adds a lot of great texture to the music. Recently, Asami got married and she is a mom. Just before that, Miyako downloaded, too. I bet they have a daycare now. Keep up the great reactions.

Don't you just love when a metal band starts with a Rachmaninoff intro. They also do backing harmony like this in "Burden of Time" live studio version. And Miyako does something, you know she can shred the guitar as well as the piano, watch her do both at the same time. Miyako has a special tone on her Dean guitars, no mixing studio magic. She post quite often on instagram little clips of playing at home. Sounds like on stage.

Interesting you mention this. Because the "Beat It" song has different live versions. Sometimes they use this same exact riff several times, sometimes they don't use it at all. It's just the bass line, and then the solo starts. But sometimes, the guitar will do this riff over the bass line, before the guitar solo comes in. It's like an extended version of this song.

I heard somewhere that ASAMI was a Jazz singer before joining LOVEBITES. She sounds even better when singing in Japanese, as in BRAVEHEARTED. As for influences, the band declared in an early interview (available on KZbin) that they wanted to make music like Iron Maiden. On an episode of ROCK FUJIYAMA, MIYAKO declares Dimebag Derrel to be her #1 guitar influence and that’s why she plays his signature Dean V. And that riff your pointing out, now I recognize it too, but I just can’t recall the song. When asked how “live” KISS ALIVE was, Gene Simmons is said to have replied, “live enough.”
