"Call Me When You're Sober", "Lithium", "Bring Me to Life", "Tourniquet" - the list goes on! Amy Lee brings out the Emo in all of us eventually ;) This song has two meanings to me. 1 - that of a person being so torn up about the loss of their partner (child, parent, best friend, whatever) that they can't move past their death. or 2 - a very traumatic break-up where they never get the 'gone' person out of their memories, thoughts, beliefs. Either way, it's heart-wrenching and beautiful. The band's first two albums are my favorites, but you could pull up their entire catalogue and blindly pick a song and not be disappointed. "Bring Me to Life (Wake Me Up Inside)" was featured in the Daredevil movie starring Ben Afleck, if you ever saw that one. The official music video has some small clips - which my son pointed out *every single time* it was played *lol*

For the "record": "The lyrics of the song refer to a spirit that haunts the memory of a grieving loved one. Similar to several other songs written by [Ben] Moody, the lyrics of the song are based on a short story he had previously written. According to Lee, it was "Ben [Moody]'s song." Moody said that the song talks about "a spirit staying with you after its death and haunting you until you actually wish that the spirit were gone because it won't leave you alone." He also stated in the booklet of Fallen that he dedicated the song to his grandfather, Bill Holcomb. In "My Immortal", Lee expresses her feelings through the line, "Though you're still with me / I've been alone all along.A writer for IGN said that "'My Immortal' is a song of pain and despair caused by the loss of a family member or very close friend and how it drove her [Lee] to the edge of insanity." While the guy is at the piano, he is not wearing shoes or socks and you never see his feet when he walks around outside. He's a ghost, stuck in the mortal plane. It may be suggested that not only is she an Angel, but that she was always his Guardian Angel (so she was in love with him) but she failed to protect him , probably from himself.

It's him that dies. I'm going through it now. I lost the love of my life three years ago. I've been diagnosed with chronic PTSD. She says "your presence still lingers here and it won't leave me alone. These wounds won't seem to heal, this pain is much too real" she's bound by her grief and pain. I sometimes feel that my pain is too much to take. Angels aren't in pain and they are definitely not bound. It's the mortal ones who are bound by pain. The car could symbolize that he died in a car accident and we see him wandering around in that suit as if he died in it. He's her immortal. 😢😢 Ahh I have to stop. I'm overwhelmed

I have been trying forever to get her on your list. Bring me back to life (billion views), Call me when your Sober, Sweet Sacrifice, Lacrymosa, Going under, Hi-Lo featuring Lindsey Stirling, Lithium, Snow White Queen, Better without you but now my favorite of all for pure vocals is The Sessions-Evanescence- Lost in Paradise and it has to be that one it's with just piano but my god the vocals the first time I heard that version covered me in chills and made me cry. Fun fact about them they won best new artist of the year against 50cent their first year and 50cents album Get Rich or Die Trying went diamond that same year. That means it went platinum 10x's. Their first album is 20yrs old and she still will sell out a concert. I've had the privilege of seeing her twice live and she's just as great live as she is recorded. You must do more PLEASE!

When I was in middle school I was obsessed with this song. Loved it so much that I would put it on to go to sleep. One time I put it on repeat and just listen to her voice and the piano and fell asleep. I had a dream, it was completely silent and there were these 3 little girls playing in a field of flowers. One of the girls goes inside for something and she's deaf (that explained the silence) so she's talking to her mother in sign language. I have no idea what she's saying Im not fluent in asl at all so I have no idea how my mind knew how to communicate that way. But all of a sudden a green hand shoots up from the floorboards and drags her down to, what I assume is hell. The mom was crying, everything still silent, and then I woke up. I think it was some weird spin on persephones story. But to this day that's all I can think about when I hear this song. I'm 26 now soooo that was a very long time ago lol
