I've always thought Christine was overshadowed by Stevie Nicks. Then again, I've read that she's somewhat shy and prefers not to be in the spotlight. But she is so talented, beautiful and laid back and her voice very soothing.

Christine definitely wrote it about a lover. Which lover is a topic of debate, depending on which former bandmember you talk to. But yes, a beautiful song. Now Harri, an even more beautiful F-Mac song that Christine wrote and performs lead vocals on is called, "Songbird", from the same epic album, Rumours. It's stunning.

Christine McVie, besides doing this solo, is Fleetwood Mac's keyboardist. Another beautiful song on their Rumors album that she does solo, is "Songbird." I hope you can react to that one too. People always rave about Stevie Nicks, but most don't realize that Christine McVie (the other blonde in the band) is a wonderful vocalist in her own right. That's because they have not heard her - maybe due to the echo-chamber effect of song selection within the music reaction enterprise (most heard = most requested and most requested = most heard) .
@bendleonard3 ай бұрын
Man Christine McVie was the glue that held that band together in so many ways. I see why Stevie Nicks says without Christine the band can never do it again

It cracks me up that reactors won't move on from "Rumours" to F-Mac's next album "Tusk". God forbid they lose viewers by doing an album that "nobody knows". But we do know it--it's the reactors who don't know it, and they will never discover it unless somebody takes the leap.
@1nelsondj3 жыл бұрын
"Rumours" was so omnipresent on the radio that I didn't buy it for years. Bought "Tusk" with big expectations as everyone had, it seemed a let down with all the short, punchy Buckingham songs but it was a grower. I put it to cassette to play at work leaving out a couple of his tracks and loved it, especially Christine's songs (could have used more of those, she has no songs on side 2, 2 songs on each of the other 3 sides).

I agree with the comments about the impact of Stevie Nicks joining as another singer. I thought both really contributed so much, but I did especially enjoy Christine’s voice and her compositions. Saying that, Landslide was one of my absolute favourite Fleetwood Mac songs, which I’ve heard Stevie wrote and brought to the group when she joined. Harry I completely agree with what you said. Songs get written for particular reasons by the song writer but they can still tap into reasons for listeners that are particular to them alone. Blow Away by Kate Bush is a perfect example of that for me.

Very nice song. I never heard this before. I am only familiar with the basics when it comes to Fleetwood Mac. Thanks for sharing! I see this has personal meaning for you because of your dad. I couldn't get such a feeling from a song, as I was not very close with my dad. I loved him, but we were not close. You were blessed, Harri. Good reaction Harri. I will take advantage of your offer to suggest requests. I have 2 for you. The first is a jazz tune called Rock Island Rocket by Tom Scott and the L. A. Express and the second is the fusion genre. That would be the song Stratus by Billy Cobham who is an excellent drummer.
