hey there! heard there might be a party somewhere around here so i thought i'd bring these guys along with.. this band formed in 2006 and features vinny appice (pronounced ah-piece) on drums, tony iommi on guitar, geezer butler on bass and the gnomish looking gentleman roaming the stage singing is the 5' 4", late great ronnie james dio leading the pack.. this tune is simply called "i" but packs a decent punch, so i hope you enjoy the show! caution! - neck braces in assorted sizes recommended before viewing..

I saw the best show ever: Heaven & Hell, Judas Priest, and Motorhead. All were incredible, but seeing all embers in Heaven & Hell was a really memorable and awesome experience.

Dio is 67 yr old here. 30's in Rainbow, late 30's early 40's with Sabbath, THEN went solo in his 40's, 50's early 60's before returning to Heaven and Hell (Sabbath, same line up)

This is Black Sabbath Dio era. I believe Sharon Osbourne blocked them from using the name so they just used the name of the album.

Saw these guys with Megadeth opening for them. Only time I got to see Dio. They were amazing. This song also has one of my all time favorite lines "All together you'll never be stronger than me!" Words to live by.

Black Sabbath under the Heaven & Hell name because Ozzy Osbourne aren't there. Saw them live in 2007. Great show. I are from the Black Sabbath album Dehumanizer from 1992. One of the heaviest Black Sabbath albums. Great songs like After (All The Dead), Letters From Earth and Sins Of The Father

It's not that Ozzy wasn't there, because they were using Black Sabbath name for years without Ozzy but it's because Sharon blocked them. Anyway Dio didn't want to sing Ozzy songs anyway so they named the band Heaven and Hell after Sabbath's first album with Dio and they only performed Dio era songs.

@@zhigyfadaroach4316 Yes I'm aware of that it's called The Devil You Know but they wanted to record it under the Black Sabbath name, however Sharon blocked them. The first 3 albums with Dio were under the Black Sabbath name.

One of the best Black Sabbath songs without Ozzy... Ronnie James Dio 4 ever 🤘🤘I believe he died a year after this 2009 performance. Geezer Butler (bass) said Ronnie was defiant on stage that year, but when he came off... he was "doubling down in pain". He never showed the public his vulnerability the way Ozzy did...

Dio was such a better writer and vocalist than Ozzy. It was an awesome experience to see Dio live in 1996, Strange Highways tour. As many people know Ronnie James Dio was the second vocalist for Black Sabbath but because Ozzy ( probably more Sharon Osborne ) bought the rights to the name Black Sabbath this band could not call themselves Black Sabbath but in my opinion they are more Sabbath than Ozzy.

Heaven and Hell is the alternative name for Black Sabbath with RJD, not the name of the album. It confused the hell out of me, as well, before I realized. The only difference in line up is Vinnie Appice on drums instead of Bill Ward. 🙂 (Check out Heaven and Hell - Sign of the Southern Cross for Geezer's bass playing, you won't regret it. )

@larrym5120 Yeah I saw them with Judas Priest, Testament and Motorhead the summer of 2009. I think Dio died about a year later.

@@neillenet291 i saw Heaven and Hell 4 times before Ronnie passed. In Camden NJ with Priest and Motorhead. In Philly with Megadeath. Up in Jones Beach NY with Alice Cooper then finally his last ever show in Atlantic City, NJ with Halestorm. They got better with each show. I read articles that they were talking about doing one more album together then Ronnie got diagnosed with cancer. I just went through my own battle with late stage cancer. I encourage everyone in their mid 40's and older to go in for annual physicals and lab work. I wish I had done it sooner. I felt perfectly fine. Cancer can be a silent killer in some cases until it's too late.

This is from August 2009 , one of Dio’s last performances, he was diagnosed with cancer at that time because he was not feeling well. he died in May 2010
