Iced Earth will always be one of the most underrated bands of all time, its the kind of band that people never know, but when they heard they always like it. Great songs, great lyrics and Barlow is one of the best vocalists of all time, the Ripper and Stu current in the band are also amazing.

Glad to see more people checking Iced Earth out. This was a band I got into in the mid 90s when I was in High School and became OBSESSED with them. Like literally a day didn't go by for nearly 15 years where I didn't listen to an Iced Earth song. I've been front row for their shows and even once met the guitar player Jon Schaffer in a bar before an Iced Earth show and can honestly say he's one of the nicest, classiest, down the (no pun intended) Earth guys I've ever met. Saw him last year with one of his other bands Demons and Wizards. Anything that man touches for life! Pure Metal Gold!

Stygian is without a doubt ons of the heaviest guitar riffs in heavy metal! There have been many fantastic singers in Iced Earth.s back catalogue but Matt Barlow will always be the voice of Iced Earth to me. Something Wicked, Dark Saga, and Horror Show the best albums that Iced Earth put out to the metal masses. All with Barlow!

Former IE Vocalist Matt Barlow has a band called 'Ashes Of Ares' which is awesome. Also he and IE Guitarist Jon Schaffer did a Christmas album called 'Schaffer/Barlow Project' called 'Winter Nights' and it's amazing.

Mr Jon's right hand is legendary for riffs, there is no one better our there in this. You should check Dante's Inferno (live) there is ENDURANCE lifting to new levels. And Matt Barlow is one of the best metal singers ever. BTW... have you ever heard of DEMONS AND WIZARDS - DIABOLIC (new album, new official song) music by Jon and voice by Hansi (from Blind Guardian) their third album together... amazing amazing amazing

The Alive in Athens version is SO much better. Matt's voice is younger and in his prime, Jon's guitar tone was like a razor blade slicing through the mix courtesy of his rare BC Rich Ignitor and the energy was off the hook.

Iced Earth is extremely hit or miss for me, in part due to how frequently they've changed lineups. This song is a pretty easy miss, even with it having been performed by multiple different vocalists.

This is my favorite band. But just an FYI. Don't react to anything else with Matt Barlow. He sucks live. There are so many berger songs from this band with better singers . Sorry Barlow fans, but it's true. I've seen him live. The worst one

Depends on WHEN you saw him live. I saw Iced Earth shortly after Alive in Athens in Nürnberg, Germany. It was an amazing performance by Matt and the whole band. Around 2000 was their peak, IMO.
