Dionne Warwick recorded the original, which is an absolute classic in any demographic. Isaac was the master of the extended play recording throughout his career, along with the use of full orchestration, only rivaled by Barry White. Those recordings now stand as masterpieces: By The Time I Get To Phoenix Do Your Thing Joy Never Can Say Goodbye This Time I'll Be Sweeter Ike also has a fair number of regular length recordings that deserve a listen, many which have also been sampled heavily.

This record is one of the most sampled records in hip hop. Dionne Warwick’s version is what Doja Cat had sampled for ‘Paint the Town Red’. I prefer this version much better than Dionne Warwick’s.
