Croce had that period of great creativity, as exemplified by the song. It just hurts to think about the tragedy of his passing. But man his music was so good.
@ALong-fo5so3 жыл бұрын
You would have to place Jim Croce as a folk singer songwriter. His live gig is essentially an acoustic set performed by just himself and his sideman, Maury Meuhleisen. Now that you’ve dived deeper, you really have to react to Lover’s Cross, Operator, New York’s Not My Home, and many more.
@StevesFunhouse3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, he did Operator 3 weeks ago, but I wouldn't mind if he did it again 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 The rest are great too, especially Lover's Cross.

Lover's Cross is my favorite. He had a lot of great music most of which you never heard on the radio. If you liked great lyrics how can you not like his songs. The guy knew how to tell a story. Not to complain, but the search for labels to put on someone's art drives me crazy. By now there is so much mixture of genre's that it's hard to nail it down, so to me, it's moot. If I had nail this down it's folk with a mix of other genre's. I've just learned to listen to the heart of a song without prejudice. This is a beautiful love song written by a beautiful songwriter and that is enough for me. Love your work Harri! I love that you appreciate all types of music.

@rollomaughfling3803 жыл бұрын
"Awkward to eat?" Haha, kind of a nightmare and also adorable. My ex, bless her soul, avoided eating with me for the first month or so we were together, finally admitting she was embarrassed because she smacked her food loudly while eating, like a 2-year old. Of course, that was fine. And it's one of those fondest memories I have of her, just happily smacking away at home, knowing she hid it from others when we were out . . .

Your assessment of people needing songs to express their appreciation of others is so on point. I'm an old man now. I was young in the days of 8-track tapes. I can not tell you how many times I cruised around before picking up a date. I was playing a tape to get to the start of a particular song that expressed what I wanted her to hear. When we were in the car, I started the engine then started the song. --- More effective than some would expect.
