One of the best but also the most emotional duet song ever. Listen to their voices and the lyrics closely

🎼I love Joe Cocker. His voice was one-of-a-kind. He always flung his arms around, feeling the melody. This was a beautiful song. 😌

Joe was conducting, not merely flinging his arms…watch him at Woodstock….he was conducting..I was fortunate enough to see Joe, Leon et al in Chicago in 68 or 69…he had that original energy…he conducted and controlled the entire stage

@@sst3d 🎼A conductor sets the tempo and feels the melody. One arm keeps the time signature…and one feels how the melody moves within the tempo. They do fling both arms and feel it all.☮️

Hi - it’s so wonderful that people are listening to our music, because a lot of it is really good. we had Motown, too, but you probably know that music. i spoke to someone about hip-hop and she asked what i liked snd i brought it up and asked if she knew those songs. she said, “yes, my Mom played all time.” i’m so glad your enjoying the musicality of the singers. i didn’t even know how good they were at the time being all caught up in living, finding those things called a boyfriend, in artsy things, film, civil rights, and the War (for us being Nam). i can’t listen to Joe. it hurts too much that he’s gone and he was only 70. but i’m so glad people are checking out out era of music. have fun. and i hope you don’t mind my ramblings :) 🌷🌱

They won an Oscar and a Grammy for this. There's also some additional meaning to he movie itself Sarah. They were training to become Navy Pilots. And you correctly picked up on their chemistry. Mad mutual respect. They are both superb.

Joe Cocker has a special passion to his voice, he can cover a song & make it his own. One of my most played tunes by Joe is "Something's going on." a rocker that gets missed. It was the "B" side to the vinyl release of "With a Little Help from my Friends."

Great duet from the 1982 film "An Officer & A Gentleman". Love the contrast in their voices with Joe's raspy voice & Jennifer's smooth powerful voice. The song won a Grammy. Another great duet Jennifer did is with Bill Medley "(I've Had) The Time Of My Life" from the 1987 movie "Dirty Dancing". It also won a Grammy.

Thank you Sarah, this was magical. Funny that this "variety show" performance was the least interactive between Joe and Jennifer. There are other live performances where the interplay between them is not bothered by TV cameras and such. Either way, my appreciation, as always, for your reactions. Stay well. 😇😊🌹
