@@twiztid133 I suppose it’s all a matter of preference and who you’re comparing against, Adam and Killswitch keep it in the lane of the song melodically so there isn’t the complexity of a Petrucci or Vai solo but I feel the harmony speed and articulation of KE’s guitar work is on point for the music they produce.

@@bobjenks8642 they might mean that some ppl think it's too melodic (particular ppl more into less accessible music) while others think it can be too inaccessible despite the melodies (as with a lotta metal or hardcore from their perspectives really) Like, I always found some melodic metalcore and a lotta the melodeath that influenced its sound to be pretty hit or miss for me. The guitarist who sings back up vocals was on an episode of The Price is Right and it was hilarious and awesome seeing this tall ass, burly, metal head guy happier than a kid in a candy store to participate in the show. Polo: Glad you found Killswitch! So just to make sure it's said, as I'm sure it will be said a million times by other fans: Do not listen to "Official" versions of Killswitch Engage music videos. They contain an alternate version that does more singing than the growls/yells during certain parts. When presented with both versions, I would argue that it degrades the overall feel of the song during these parts (these parts were written to be yelled, not sung, it's more of an afterthought). Lyric videos are a pretty safe bet, but read the comments first to see if there are a bunch of people complaining that it's "not the album version" to be sure. ;) Don't need you to get crucified by fans for innocently listening to the non-album versions. Cheers!

Killswitch Engage (or KSE for short...) from Massachusetts broke big in 2004 w/ their 2nd vocalist Howard Jones and the album 'The end of heartache' ... a record that sold gold (half million copies) in the US, followed by 'As daylight dies' (2006) which also sold gold... Unfortunately, Howard Jones left Killswitch Engage after 2010, citing health issues... He is currently recording & touring w/ his own band Light the Torch. Massachusetts cultivated a healthy metal scene that produced bands like Godsmack, Shadows Fall, All That Remains... Killswitch Engage was formed in 1999 and debuted their first album in 2000 w/ vocalist Jesse Leach... the band's line-up solidified in 2002 w/ Adam Dutkiewicz (drums), Joel Stroetzel (guitar), Mike D'Antonio (bass) for the 2nd album 'Alive or just breathing' in '02, which saw KSE sign w/ Roadrunner Records... Their sound was dubbed 'metalcore' which combined the extreme metal riffs w/ hardcore 'breakdowns' ... Adam Dutkiewicz switched to guitar, and the band were expected to tour heavily... However, vocalist Jesse Leach had gotten married and opted to step out of KSE in 2003... With the band slated to tour on Ozzy Osbourne's Ozzfest 2003, KSE hired vocalist Howard Jones and the band were a huge success on the road... Justin Foley (drums) eventually joined the band permanently. This concert was released in 2005 as a live DVD w/ the title '(Set this) World ablaze'. With high expectations, Killswitch Engage broke big commercially w/ the 2004 album 'The end of heartache'... which got MTV exposure and became the band's biggest-selling record... 'As daylight dies' was also another commercial success in 2006... KSE released another self-titled album in 2009... But this time, it was Howard Jones who opted to take a break as the band went on tour w/ vocalist Phil Labonte of All That Remains filling in... Following the tour, KSE amicably split w/ Howard Jones. Howard Jones would take time off, but returned in 2014 w/ the band The Devil You Know... they were re-named Light the Torch in 2018 (after 2 albums as The Devil You Know) and released 2 more albums. Adam Dutkiewicz had collaborated w/ vocalist Jesse Leach on a side project Times of Grace (their debut album 'The Hymn of a broken man' was released in 2011... a 2nd album 'Songs of loss & separation' was released in 2021)... KSE announced in 2013 that Jesse Leach (vocals) was returning to the band. KSE returned w/ Jesse Leach on vocals for the 2013 album 'Disarm the descent'... followed by 'Incarnate' (2016)... and 'Atonement' (2019)... Both Leach and former vocalist Howard Jones sang on 1 KSE track - 'The signal fire' 🔥🔥🤘🤘 More Killswitch Engage song suggestions - 'A bid farewell'... 'As daylight dies'... 'Rose of Sharyn'... 'Last serenade'... "Holy diver" (Dio cover)... 'My curse'... 'I am broken too'... 'Unleashed'... 'In due time'... 🔥🔥🤘🤘
