Hey, Brother. I was waiting for your reaction to this one. My introduction to Dan Vasc was his rendition of Amazing Grace, which brings me to tears every time I watch it. And it was your reaction to the same, that introduced me to your channel. I love to see fellow believers react to Dan. I don't just hear his music, I feel it too. Truly amazing. ........Liked and Subscribed

God has ALWAYS loved "metal." The more I go back and look through the lyrics of a TON of the metal songs that I HADN'T listened to (I listened to a lot, but not everything, over the years), the more I see lyrics that were written IN CODE. We tend to think that, these days, we've had to do a lot of that, but the songs that were written back in the late 70s, 80s, and early 90s were being screened, as well. Knowing what we know, NOW, about how things can be shut down for "wrong phrasing," (which is what the song "Breaking the Silence" is all about), I can see where a whole lot MORE of us SHOULD have been listening very intently to the music that Dan now sings for us!!!

I absolutely LOVED your reaction!! ❤❤❤ Dan's interpretation of this classic Christmas hymn is outstanding!! Think about it... the single most important event in HUMAN HISTORY... when Jesus, the Christ, our Emmanuel, took on flesh to walk amongst us and pay our sin debt in FULL!! He took on the sins of ALL MANKIND! Also, it says "Make a joyful NOISE" over 100 times in the Bible!! And when he growled ot reminded me of Philippians 2:10-11 that says, "In the name of Jesus, EVERY KNEE shall bow, of things in heaven and things on earth, and things under the earth. And EVERY tongue confess that Jesus Christ is LORD, to the glory of the Father."! And Psalm 19:1 says, All creation testifies to the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands."!! I find it absolutely fascinating that these 2 musical geniuses understand the magnitude of that event and work it into this most epic version of "Oh Holy Night" EVER, IMHO! I listened to it all night. I was captivated, in awe, speechles, blown-away. I was rejoicing, weeping, celebrating, the whole experience was beyond beautiful, and absolutely hands-down the most impressive musical genius EVER!! I loved your reaction, too!! God bless and Merry Christmas!! ✝️❤️✨️🙏🏻📖🕊🎄🎊😇

Loud and proud, Dan is a young man happy in his faith, he does not just sing this. He openly gives praise and thanks... he emphasises words and phrases with his magnificent voice. The beauty in the word Peace, the power in Oppression shall cease... and the quake and growl of hidden darkness with in us all which needs to be expelled before the true praise can flow and be heard on high. He shocks us? perhaps. We have all heard this sung in Church from the hymnal, Dan makes you feel it in your Soul .. just my take on it... Happy Christmas to you all

I started to write a comment before I'd had a chance to re-balance, after hearing this song again for about the 50th time. It just grabs me SO hard, every time! Dan puts every bit of his faith and power mixed, into it, and WOW! Plus I think this is the best I've ever heard Victor do with all of the guitars and the wonderful keyboarding. What a wonderful musician he is! It was really funny, yesterday, when I was listening to your early post of this on Patreon, that I got a fun treat, as well. One of the teenagers at our church is the son of our sound man (who also fills in as the bass player if the other bass player can't make for a service. Calvin has been playing guitar for a couple of years, now. He's just slightly younger than my grandson Ethan (19-1/2) (the one who looks like Dan), so he's not HUGELY experienced with his instrument yet. However, I hadn't heard him for a while, and I didn't go out in the icy rain last night, to go to the candle-light service. Then today, I was watching the video, that started a few minutes before the song service began. The screen was dark, but suddenly I started hearing an electric guitar playing fairly softly, then Calvin's lanky body came darkly into view, and as he became just a LITTLE bit more visible (and then they left it fairly dark), suddenly he launched into a Victor-type version of "The Carol of the Bells." If you know that song, you know that there's a LOT of fingering to be done on a guitar, to produce just the melody itself. Calvin, however, swung into full METAL mode! I sat here with my jaw dropped! I've watched it several times, now, and since that first time, I've hummed along, but am still in awe of Calvin (whom I've watched grow up from the age of about six), and what he did for that song!!! The next time I see him, I'm going to ask him if he's been watching Victor, because it seems to me he picked up on his style REALLY well. I HAD introduced his dad and his aunt to Dan's "Amazing Grace" back in April, so it's very possible that Calvin has been following Dan since then. I sure hope so! Thanks, Matt. I absolutely LOVED your reaction. WELL DONE! 😀

@@Danielle_Torres Um YES it's METAL!!!! This certainly does NOT mean that it can't be used to emphasize how strong and powerful Our Lord is, as @RoGuimaraes said and @gametchanger agreed, and as I agree. We are LOVING how that particular insertion of "metal" was placed exactly where Dan placed it. This is HIS arrangement of the song--nobody else's. It is DAN...doing DAN things...to a song that has been done in MANY different ways over the years, that was also written by a PERSON...one like any of the rest of us...one who knew and loved the Lord Jesus Christ, and wrote a song about His birth as a human being (something CREATED BY GOD), while at the same time retaining His full entity within the triune Godhead [the Great I Am] (Jesus was the ONE, who spoke everything INTO being, and WITHOUT HIM, NOTHING WAS MADE THAT WAS MADE). (John 1 in the New Testament) It's not the NIGHT itself that is actually considered "divine," or "holy." As the song continues in POWER METAL after the Dan-inserted bit of DEATH METAL, Dan sings out, "Christ is the Lord! O, praise HIS NAME forever!" When the phrasing of this old song says, "...O Night Divine..." it is NOT meaning that the night itself IS GOD, or is to be REVERED AS GOD. What it IS saying, is that something wonderfully and perfectly DIVINE (of God) happened on that particular night (and who cares EXACTLY what night it was), that began setting into action the NEW COVENANT directly being REPLACED, between God and His created mankind. Since God Himself also created MUSIC, there is no limitation on where the chords and sounds that make any particular music into "METAL," can be placed. Ro is absolutely correct. "The roar is to emphasize how strong and powerful Our Lord is." It is Dan's way of doing that. He brought emphasis to that particular phrase ("Let all within us...") so that the following words, "PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME!" would be emphasized...not the night itself, but GOD, HIMSELF. Also...Jesus is also called The Lion of [the tribe of] Judah. Lions ROAR. Personally, I LOVE IT when that Lion of Judah (which means PRAISE) roars within me...because then He also roars THROUGH me, and out into the world. HALLELUJAH!!! GO, DAN!!!

@@LHeyden-o6i Sebastian Bach hasn't been the lead singer for Skid Row since 1996. - - - - - - - - - - Here are the basics after that. - - - - - - - - - - In 2016, Skid Row announced a new singer. The new frontman was Erik Grönwall, former singer with Swedish rockers H.E.A.T., who replaces ZP Theart, the former Dragonforce vocalist who joined Skid Row in 2016. Grönwall was the fourth man to have fronted Skid Row since the departure of the band's best-known singer Sebastian Bach in 1996. Bach was followed by Johnny Solinger, who enjoyed a 16-year tenure, and TNT singer Tony Harnell, who spent eight months with the band in 2015 before making way for Theart. Early in 2021, Erik Grönwall's appointment (replacing Theart) was confirmed in a statement from the band, which read, "It's a new era for Skid Row. With a new album, a new single and a world tour, we've added a new voice. Welcome powerhouse vocalist Erik Grönwall, formerly from the band H.E.A.T. from Sweden." Unfortunately, in April 2021, Erik was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia. In 2023, Erik received a bone marrow transplant, which has pretty much "given him back his life." However, in early 2024, because now he is going through having a completely brand new immune system, he made the decision that his health is more important than staying on with Skid Row as the lead singer. Since May of 2024, Erik has been working as a KZbin soloist, and posting his own work, without having the constraint of being in a whole group, and/or on tour while still battling the leftovers from the leukemia and the adjustment time from the bone marrow transplant. - - - - - - - - - -

Dan is spectacular as usual. I’d be very interested in your take on his cover of the Number Of The Beast. Although the song was about a man’s dream, it is similar to a passage in revelation and at the conclusion of the song continue with (as the great Paul Harvey used to say) “the rest of the story” how the beast is destroyed and the Lord reigns forever!

Can you tell me where you get that Dan Vasc loves the LORD? Have you heard him say this? Please, I am not trying to disparage him in any way, but I would like to know. One of the things I like about his music, he brings what I interpret as the very strength, power, and glory of the throne room of Heaven. His stance as he sings is one of conviction. Is he a good actor? Or is he a believer? I question because I want to be clear about him. I heard him talk about where he gets some ideas for his music and he referred to Judeo-Christian mythology! JUDEO-CHRISTIAN MYTHOLOGY!!! Please help me understand clearly!

@franceshale584 -- @gametchanger -- The song Matt is referring to is "FOR ALL," written and originally sung by one of the Christian musicians and singers that Dan has always loved, Roy Khan. You can find the title in Dan's channel. When Dan referred to "Judeo-Christian mythology," he was talking about the fact that Tolkien (for one) used his "mythological" stories to represent Biblical truths. This is also the fact about SO much "Metal Music" that many of us never heard correctly, in years past. Specifically, he was talking about how he and Davi (his younger brother) (and Gabriel Belozi and Giovanni Rezende) -- the Band Fearless -- wrote their original album "Chronicles of Ancient Wisdom." In that album, there is a wonderful prologue, and 11 other tracks. Of those 11 tracks, five of them directly reference scriptures, as the story within the album follows its trail. Actually, I've found scriptures in several of the other six tracks, as well. In fact, I've seen written proof of that, by Dan. It's fun to listen closely to the music, and find those gems -- hidden treasure, to be sure. Many of those types of tales of old were told the way they were, for the very same reason that a WHOLE lot of Metal songs were written. The more I discover about BOTH, the more I understand how God's message gets to people who might not have any other options to hear THE WORD. Just do this search: "Was Tolkien a Christian?" You'll find out a WHOLE lot about not just J.R.R. Tolkien, but about C.S. Lewis, and a TON of others who have used this method of Biblical story-telling...right into today's space in time. You might want to read a very short, but very meaningful and purposeful book by C.S. Lewis, called "The Screwtape Letters." It will help you get a handle on this way of telling the Gospel, AND of the power that is within us THROUGH HOLY SPIRIT, against the scrawny lies of the devil. You can find the book on Amazon (or most bookstores). On Amazon, you can also get it for your Kindle. I studied under Kenneth Hagin, by taking a two-year correspondent course (now called distance learning, of course), through RHEMA College. That book was the very first thing required of us to read. It is AMAZING! - - - - - - - - - - Again...the stories themselves are ABOUT, or RELATED TO Judeo-Christianity. The FORMS the stories are written in, are "mythological," in that they are not stories straight out of the Bible. They are about made-up (fictional) stories that tell ABOUT the things of the Bible, without them being PART of the Bible. Actually, when we tell a story (give a testimony) about something that has happened to us in our world of today...or yesterday...meaning our world at any given day or time...that is NOT already published in the Bible, but that is easily identified as being something that WOULD have happened in the Bible...we are telling those stories as "Judeo-Christian mythology." In other words, "As we believe, so do we speak."

@franceshale584 -- Also, if you'll go way back into Dan's catalog, you'll see how he BEGAN posting when he started the channel. There are scriptures at the end of nearly all of the really old videos. Also, in other videos with his gaming friends (not just the interview that I'm thinking you watched, in which I heard the same basic conversation), Dan has repeatedly mentioned his beliefs, PLUS he denounced a declared witch who had been threatening him with curses upon him if he didn't marry her! His comments were in the line of, "How could she even THINK such would be the case, because I'm a CHRISTIAN???!!!"

To @gamechanger and @GrandmaGotGraceLW Thank you for responding! And for all your very well thought out answers. This made it more understandable to me. Yes, I’ve read SCREWTAPE LETTERS. I was a little concerned, did not want to put my own appreciation of Dan Vasc without being clear about him. I have heard, I think, most all of his Christ oriented music except for his interpretative music of Amazing Grace, can’t do that one yet. I am not a fan of black metals music but watching him do Angels We Have Heard on High, I can begin to associate a kind of power stance to Christ Himself. I KNOW it’s there, but not yet, not till He returns again. My hope is more come to saving faith in Him but until then, even so, come quickly LORD JESUS.

Dan has PROUDLY proclaimed his Christianity in many videos, chats & interviews that I’ve personally seen. He is a believer and loves The Lord. He sings His praise LOUD & PROUD.✨
