When I saw Metallica with Ozzy at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit they opened with this song. The lights went out and a spotlight shined on an Acoustic Guitar sitting in the middle of the stage basically playing itself then Metallica popped out of nowhere and just went nuts into Battery, it was so crazy and so loud. What a great concert!

Hi bro, I really love watching your reactions to Metallica. I don't speak English and I have to use an automatic translator built into the browser to understand what you are saying. I'm really looking forward to your reaction to metallica's performance with the song "Creeping Death" in Moscow at the Tushino airfield in 1991. This must be seen at least once in your life. I guarantee it will just blow your mind. I support your passion for guitar, James Hatfield and Metallica really had a strong influence on several generations of musicians, including me. I even had to take out a loan from my bank to buy myself a Gibson Explorer like James With love from Russia

I love your genuine reactions. That was my reaction when I first heard Battery!! I loved them since hearing Kill 'Em All. I've been a rock fan since I was a toddler. Dad would crank his Beatles, Grand Funk and Led Zeppelin albums. I found other artists as I got older like Scorpions, Judas Priest, Raven, etc. and couldn't get enough of Thrash Metal in its infancy! I was 13 in 1983 for Metallica's debut.

New subscriber here and love that even though your very young, you have a long enough attention span to enjoy "METALLICA" because it's "A MUST" have! New Metal is crap! Fast doesn't equal good! Metallica adds thrash, classical, melodic, classic rock tones like no one else! You will never find another Metallica!! Man I envy your virgin ears my friend! I used to go to bed every night with my headphones on letting this album rip at 12 years old!! In 2015 "Master of Puppets was selected by Library of Congress for preservation in the national recording registry for being culturally, historically, aesthetically, significant! First and only Metal record to achieve it!! "And Justice for All" album is kick ass too! Live is to die, blackened, shortest straw,Harvester of Sorrow! Again,,you can't really go wrong!! Hopefully you'll be adding these and many more to your playlist! Welcome to the family

This was so great to watch. My obsessed Metallica fan trained ear is used to segueing into Master of Puppets right at the end of Battery after years of listening to it over and over, in order, since the 80's. 😂 Their arrangement of the album and how each song transitions from track to track is like a metal symphony. I am looking forward to going through all your videos, which I am doing now. Please consider Harvester Of Sorrow from the Justice album. I think you will love it.

I've watched quite a few of your videos now and noticed you occasionally ask for suggestions. As far as rock and heavy metal you are off to a great start with Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, and Metallica. In fact those are 4 of my top 5 favorites! You're only missing Black Sabbath to fill out my holy quintet (which would be another great band to do). But my actual recommendation is Tool. They are a very unique band that has a LOT of amazing songs. I think of them as a modern day Pink Floyd. It's much heavier but has very meaningful lyrics and technically complicated music like Floyd. They have long songs with bizarre time signatures and very strong vocals and are just bad ass! BIG rabbit hole to take on! Hope you check them out and enjoy it. Keep rockin 🤘🤘 Edit: You've now dipped into Sabbath to make my top 5 complete! Good on ya!!

Metallica began to start becoming popular during my age of 18yrs old (1990). I was a fan immediately. This was after their first recording of Garage Days. One of their very first performances was in Buffalo NY at Monsters OF Rock in 1990. I was there! They were brand spankin new to everyone in the crowd.🔴 I absolutely loved their music. Would sit & listen over n over & HEADBANG cuz loved the sound sooooooooooooooooooooooo much!!!💥 I'm a major Pink Floyd fan/listener & have been since the 1970's. You can't compare these 2 bands. Both too different sounds. So you can love both. Rock n roll has soooooooo many different sounds. There's Metal, Heavy Metal, Classic Rock, Southern Rock, Grunge etc..soooooooo many.

According to Wiki (and this is mostly correct info, I know): The theme of the song is based around the San Francisco thrash scene in the 1980s. The most prominent club played by Metallica was the Old Waldorf at 444 Battery Street in downtown San Francisco. The lyric "Cannot kill the family, Battery is found in me" is a statement that society does not understand the scene and that those within it ("the family") will defend it as a show of solidarity against the glam metal scene that was popular in the Los Angeles area. The tone of the song is of familial ties and the positive release of energy through interest in metal.

Back in the day, I was on the Megadeth side..until i listened to metallica. Cliff inspired me to play bass. Or rather he inspired me to play it better. I was probably about your age back then, so good start!
