Fun fact, this is enter sandman backwards. The record label wanted another enter sandman this album and Metallica looked at them like they were crazy and just made this song just for them. The off to never never land reference is a middle finger to them 😂

I really like how you picked up on how James is vocals are exceptional in these two albums. Not that the snarling power of his younger voice was an amazing or the train voice in vibrato of his later years. And like you said this is not standard Metallica but it's good music and it totally highlights James's working on the dynamic nature and perfecting the characteristic growls and sounds that are all the high points of his voice.

Thank you. I think listening to all the music all together like this is better I can really hear the differences in his voice from year to year

It's funny that you mention "Enter Sandman." As the song is ending, James says "Off to Never Never Land...."

Sorry sent that comment too soon. Continuing, the live version of The memory remains is really great live because of the extended period of time especially in more current times how the crowd literally will not stop singing that last chorus until Laura's literally has to stop them with the drum beat. I feel like sometimes the crowd would continue singing for hours. I recommended bleeding me off this album for a while now. I personally feel like it's one of Metallica's best, and I think the s&m versions are among the live versions of note. Every reaction I've ever seen to it has been phenomenal and really impressed the listeners. Ain't My bitch is a great attitude song and a good rocker. And the outlaw torn, I think one of the most underrated Metallica songs ever.

Never understood the hate for this album. Yes they cut their hair and made the songs more commercial radio friendly. It's not as thrashy as the first few albums. It's still a great album! Now the St. Anger album, I get the hate for that album. 😁 Horrible mix, lack of solo's. Part of me kind of wants them to re-record the St. Anger album. Remix it so it sounds decent, Take away Lar's pots and pans and make him play it on some drums. And maybe add some solo's. 😁 There's a couple songs that would be decent.

No amount of remixing will fix the St. Anger album. The songs are horrible and Hetfield sounds like crap. Metallica at their lowest.
