Wow! I never thought I’d see Monsta X on this channel! Their b-sides and English albums can be a bit more R&B, but they do go hard on their title tracks. As an older group, MX is pretty versatile. Personally, I love their Japanese releases. I recommend their debut Trespass, Rush, Hero, Beautiful, Alligator, Gambler, Kiss or Death, and Rush Hour. Pick anything; you can’t go wrong.

The first who started this song the one with orange hair is Joohoney he is the main rapper & sub vocalist , latter comes I.M who is the lead rapper & sub vocalist and the maknae of the group then comes the Vocal line with Shownu The Leader, main dancer & lead vocalist, Minhyuk who is sub vocalist, Kihyun main vocalist, Hyungwon lead dancer, sub vocalist, sub rapper and lastly Wonho who is also a vocalist and their former member who was sadly told to leave the group on Oct 2019 due to false controversy and allegations. They really are the whole package of a group. They have bangers and chill music, their discography is versatile. MX is the group alot of the newer groups copy (as in the loud and powerful sound and visuals). Their rapline is perfect. You would really be blown away by watching the rapline live perf of Sambakja (choose the subtitles version). Their vocals are no joke either. They deserve more popularity for real. Some of their other mv's you'd like are Beautiful, Fantasia, Follow, and their most recent comeback Rush Hour! Rush Hour is fire!!!

Monsta X still have one of the best rap lines in kpop... their Korean music is so aggressive and their English songs are so soft and beautiful. They have so much duality and EVERY ONE of the members is lead singer potential... especially their rapper Jooheon (Joohoney), who sings most of the ad libs in "Who Do You Love?" and the high note in "Gambler", as well as other track and covers like Versace on the Floor. One of their members "Wonho" left the group after a false accusation to protect the other members but started his solo career once the accusations were cleared. He's worth checking out, especially "Lose" and "Open Mind". he has the body of a bodybuilder, the voice of an angel, and the moves of a graceful dancer (he went viral on Tiktok with his solo album MV because of his body).

Monsta X is such a versatile group in their musical spectrum that no one compares to them (their leader 00:59 Shownu is currently doing military service). They have a mature, aggressive and powerful sound. On the other hand they made All About Luv, a full album in English, where they show a totally different concept of their Korean music, being more melodic and where even the two rappers sing and man… they do it very well. A few days ago they made history as the first K-pop group to have 2 albums entirely in English and its a masterpiece. An interesting fact that also differentiates them from other groups, apart from the fact their rappers are also vocalists, is that the lyrics of some of their songs are usually naughty and spicy and we love it. Monsta X were known for their mature, aggressive and powerful sound when that wasn't really a thing kpop groups were doing. You might enjoy watching No Mercy which was a bit like The Voice in that they were trying to build a kpop group and people were eliminated based on their performances that week etc. Caveat, it's hard to watch when IM, the maknae, was brought in at a late stage, the production team clearly didn't explain to him what was going on and threw him to the wolves with everyone who had already bonded together. But he took it and, tbh, they needed IM. IM has a unique sound and plays well with Jooheon (the main rapper) and he lived in the US for a long time and he gave them the ability to go global with his English speaking abilities, similar to RM, he used field their interviews in the West but Kihyun (who is actually close friends with Suga) has helped shoulder the weight since he began learning English. Wonho, part of the vocal line, was one of their songwriters and producers - he produced a version of one of rheir songs where they took each other's parts - and he actually was the one who recognised that Shoot Out was going to be a hit even before the group did. But sadly, due to controversy, he left MX to protect them and is now under a Starship subsidiary as a solo artist and he was exonerated. Alligator would be a good follow up to Shoot Out but knowing you, you'll start with their discography in order. Enjoy, Anthony!

On a side note... both the rappers Joohoney (orange hair) and IM (grey hair) have written and produced their own mixtapes. They also have made B-side tracks for many of Monsta X's albums. The most recent title tracks "Gambler" and "Rush Hour" were written by Jooheon. It gives you an idea of how talented these guys are.
