I used to run all the shows at the Wells Fargo center and the Spectrum. Pearl Jam played the last show at the Spectrum before it was tore down. When they played this song, the entire crowd sang every word as loud as they could. It was by far the most legendary thing I've ever witnessed. If you didn't have goosebumps on your arms , you aren't human. Epic stuff, I'm telling y'all.

Great reaction, guys. While I don't recall if I saw the actual first airing of this Unplugged version, I did watch it (And recorded it on VCR) right around teh time of its release and was blown away. I would invite people oiver all the time to watch it and wed get stoned and I bet you I saw this entire concert easily 100 time sback in the nineties, often with 4-5 of my closest Pearl Jam fantatics and we all had very similar responses dealing with transcendence and musically infused bliss. Now, I bet you Ive watched at least 50 "First reactions" of this song, and I am still no wehre near being sick of it. It's a unique, powerhouse woprk of creativity and beauty. Please watch the whole concert!

One of the most heartfelt songs of young love. Eddie Vedder is reluctant to discuss who this song involved but it is important and considered one of the best love songs of it's time. He was not feeling well for this show and I am one of those whom you asked about. Back in the day I had a small party of friends ready to watch (and tape) this whole show. That video tape got burned through. Thank you KZbin for making it available. This is just the tip of the iceberg for this slightly weird and wonderful band.

I was just a little kid when this originally aired, and I vividly remember watching Eddie on stage pouring out his heart thinking to myself that he was something special. I attempted suicide at 13.
