I love this one because it let the audience hear more of Mitch's range and it was the first time people heard Avi solo and Avi's voice is magical.

Also, though he didn't get a solo, Kevin got to join in for some five part harmonies. It was like they came back to the show and said, "You thought we had shown you everything we had, but there's still more you haven't seen." In the context of the time, having them return and show even more of their evolution and talent was so special and cool.

Just so we're clear. You know that Pentatonix was on the 2011 SingOff, right? So this not THEIR finale. They are guest stars on Home Free and VoicePlay's finale. This is two years after their Sing Off win, when they have been through 15 or so performances on the 2011 season, moved to Los Angeles, lost their record contract, built up a KZbin channel with viral videos, toured around the US in small but increasingly larger venues, put out two EPs and promoted them in various TV and radio performances, etc. So at this point they are getting to be really seasoned performers.

Pentatonix won The Sing Off in 2012, not 2011. All of the things you described happening after their win happened in just one year.

That is incorrect. PTX won in 2011. The Sing Off had a one year hiatus in 2012, and returned in 2013, when Home Free won. So "last season's champions" is not the same as "last year's champions". During that hiatus, the label the winner signed was changed from Epic to Columbia, because Epic didn't know how to market a contemporary a cappella group.

To add to this story, the reason for the 2012 hiatus is that NBC was going to cancel The Sing-Off after the 2011 season. The reason they returned in 2013 and 2014 is that Scott Hoying spent a lot of time and trouble in 2012 fighting to keep the show on the air, lobbying for the many a cappella groups that wanted to compete on the show. If it had not been for Scott, we would not have seen Homefree and VoicePlay in the 2013 competition.

Oh, please please please! Say you are doing *ALL* of the 2011 Sing-Off performances! I saw the first one! Did I miss the rest?!? This was their "Welcome Home hero's" number for the start of the 2013 season that Home Free wins (there was no 2012 season). They did take the world by storm! After the record company baled on their contract, in less than two years they still came out on top! Great reaction!

It's so nice to see Avi when he was still excited about being a part of the whole show. He always delivered in shows, videos vocals, but toward the end, you could see that sparkle in his eyes growing dimmer. He's so happy, peaceful & enjoying life again now. And he & Kevin maintain that close, brotherly relationship. Avi is desperately missed, but I'm so happy for him personally. And Matt is amazing for the direction the group is going currently! As Avi has said, All Is Well. ❤

Avi's mom had cancer. They were on tour and had a hectic schedule. He could not be there for his mom and family during her disease and treatment. That is why eventually he left to be with his mom and family.

I have loved these guys since the Sing Off, but FINALLY saw them live last week. Even after all these years of listening to them all the time, Mitch’s voice stunned me several times. I was very close (2nd row), and able to watch his face. It is effortless for him. He’s just having fun.

I also just went to my first concert last Thursday (WA) and it was everything I hoped for. We had great seats; closer than I expected (but not 2nd row!!); they gave such a fabulous show and the sound mixer did a good job of keeping voices in balance, etc. I must admit feeling a bit star struck!

The show producers held Mitch back during the regular show because they thought he was too feminine so - if was especially great to see Mitch take a lead here. A kind of statement that we’re our own force now

Those of us who've seen Avi in his solo concerts and stayed afterwards can attest to the fact that he gives great hugs. I'm sure they all do, but Avi's the only one I've actually gotten a hug from.

Yay you did it!! This must have been so bittersweet for them being on the show after winning, moving to LA, getting dropped by the label. They built their own success. It's true. I have seen their official music video for this song, but I think this live performance on the Sing-Off is much better than the official video. The excitement and energy really come through in the live performance.

My sentiment exactly--they were sensational right out of the box. Their origin story is unbelievable. Those of us who fell in love with them on Sing Off really do feel a sense of pride as if they were our own.

You can see in this the progress they made, especially the confidence they developed in that first year after they won. We have to remember that they literally formed the day before their first audition; the pTX in 2011 was still amazing but clearly feeling their way. Here they have the confidence of knowing their direction. And it was great to see Mitch featured in a Sing Off, he tended to be in the background most of that competition.

It was wonderful to see them back on this stage, well rested and not worried about getting kicked off the show! In all the Sing Off performances, Mitch never got to start the song, nor did Avi get to sing a single solo part, so this was great. I saw them in Portland Thu night. It was my third live in two years and it was the best I’ve seen. They were SOOOO good! It was like they were altogether living their best lives. The combination of their voices and energy was amazing to experience! I don’t usually over gush, but Thu night was special.

They grew a lot from 2011 to 2013. Even though Kirstie didn't have a lead here, you can certainly hear her belt carrying throughout the song. I got to see them for the first time in August, so satisfying!

Day 126 of recommending the Beyblade openings. There are the Japanese ones and the English ones. The English version has one opening for a generation, and that for the 1st and 2nd generation. The 3rd gen has one op for one season. But the Japanese version has multiple ops for a season in any gen. You should definitely check both versions out. I made playlists on my channel, so you don't need to search, cause in those compilations are a few off and not in the correct order. Thanks for checking out!
