About your initial cinematography question: not sure how they do it, but it's not just a single object (Kevin's ring) that stands out. The video is in black-and-white, but everything that is gold (rings, earrings, necklaces, room furnishings) is highlighted. That whole idea is a nod to the posters for the movie, which were all shot on black-and-white film, with the only color being the gold of the lettering in the title, A Star Is Born. PTX always gets the details right!

This is one of their absolute best, which is kind of oxymoronic as every song is one of their best! I hope that you will look at some of the new stuff they've put out the past couple of months. O Holy Night and Kiss From a Rose. But there is a live video of Kevin and Matt doing a reimagination of Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies on tour. Buckle up because it will toss you out of your seat and bounce you off the walls!

I love when you react to PTX! I would like to suggest you watch the live performance of My Heart With You. It's the song that inspired them to do Run To You, a 5 part harmony song, performed at a concert. It's superb and you'd love it!! PLEASE choose the Hollywood Bowl performance, it's just so stunning and they're all facing each other. The audience is quiet as can be during the song!

As someone else mentioned, there's a little nod to Lady Gaga who sang the original in the movie with a short "Bad Romance" rif (at 6:08 on your video). The black and white with splashes of gold is also a nod to the "A Star is Born" movie posters and soundtrack cover which were in black and white with gold lettering. Scott and Kirstie apparently also sang this one together at the pre-wedding welcome the night before Scott and Mark's wedding last summer. There was a lot of karaoke that evening with Scott at the piano. On another note, Scott has a new solo track being released on March 1!

Hey Luke. I just wanted to say that I originally discovered your channel because of your Ptx reactions. I'm pretty sure the video is shot in colour then it's turned into greyscale with the option to retain a colour, in this case gold. It's certainly done in stills so I imagine it's not too difficult to extend that to the individual frames in a video. Then it's just a case of selecting the items you want to highlight and make sure they are the only gold (or whatever colour you choose) objects in the scene. Subtle but effective. Now who else do I know like that? Oh, of course. So now, you amazing, beautiful person, I'll see you in the next video.

Another underrated one to react to would be Kevin Olusola, the beatboxer and cellist of Pentatonix, singing his solo cover of Cindy Lauper’s “True Colors”. The video is captivating and the music is simple yet rich. You can really focus on the meaning in the lyrics. Would love to see your reaction!

I'm shocked you didnt rewind on Mitch, Matt, and Kevins part. When they showed during that part you weren't looking at the screen but hopefully you caught it when you were editing. I don't know if youve done "Say Something" yet but you can see scott and mitch white knuckling the chair bc they did want it to look like a still painting in that video. I've only done a bit of compositing but this is my best educated guess from my limited experience. To make things easier in post, I think they probably tried to eliminate as much gold/yellow colors on set, aside from their props. Then using compositing software, you sample a specific color in the image and adjust the values to make a decent mask which you'll then use to block the grayscale effect and heighten the gold color. That being said, computers and footage are not perfect, so a compositor likely had to go in there to clean up the edges and mistakes. Any compositors out there, please feel free to correct me, always like learning new techniques

Hi - the original is already more than good, but PTX's version is unbelievably, tremendously good - out of this world. And that applies to all the covers. All the members have exceptional voices; Kirstin not only sings very well, no, she is also so exceptionally pretty. I wonder if they used a form of reverse greenscreen? Everything they wanted to show up as gold was actually green, then in post production, it was picked out and changed. Except of course the plant in tge background throws that tgeory out tge window.
