Iconic song and iconic band. There is a whole Queen Army out here and they span every age bracket. Queen has a catalog of over 200 songs so there is a lot to explore. Next should probably be Somebody To Love Live at Montreal. You will see Freddie's amazing vocal talents and the whole band's attention to detail as well as how Freddie has the audience eating out of his hand as he engages them with just a word. Thank you for this reaction.

@@theinsideouter6371 Yes, I loved the Beatles and the Stones also but Queen brought a whole new energy even through they definitely were huge fans and highly respected the Beatles and the Stones, even emulated them in some ways. Music always inches forward and new things get added. What I feel is the worst thing to happen to music is the loss of interest in radio. Radio gave us an entire banquet of music and we got to taste it all, the old, the new and everything in between. We actually got cultured and did not get stuck in a tiny circle of music "that was currently trending". The current music spectrum is so so narrow and there is nothing to keep us interested. In 5 years we won't even remember their names. Yesterday someone was reacting to Rocket Man. He had never heard of Elton John and thought that he was probably a one hit wonder. How hollow my musical life would have been without the likes of people like Joe Walsh or Eddie Van Halen, and all the greats who's names were often hidden in groups. People don't know the name Mick Jagger or Keith Richards today, even if they may have heard of the Rolling Stones. I miss radio and I miss hearing the decades of music every single day in the background of my life.

The most influential band in the history of Rock Pop music. Certainly the most talented BY FAR! Queen earned every damn letter in the word " Genius". As one British columnist once stated in his paper , the day after attending a Queen concert. He described Queen's music as, " Sheer Bloody Poetry".

I wasn’t ‘there’-on the set where they filmed the BoRhap video, but I’m in my early 60’s and was smart enough as a young college kid to move heaven and earth to get myself to a couple of Queen concerts in the late ‘70’s, where they played this song and many other amazing cuts. Queen concerts were amazing! Four incredibly talented musicians working together to give you the experience of a lifetime, every time. They’re all terrific but Freddie was a complete force of nature. Clearly made for the stage; he put on quite a show but never did anything that didn’t appear to be 100% genuine. Even tho I sometimes wish I was your age, one of the best things about being my age is having known Queen almost my whole life. Thanks for doing this reaction!! Please do more Queen!

Queen could do any genre you can name, their catalogue is very diverse. I strongly recommend Somebody to Love live at Montreal 1981. Live! No auto tune or any sort of computer generated bells and whistles, it wasn’t invented yet. Bands had to be able to do it all back then and Queen always put something extra into their live performances. It’s jaw droppingly good

I was 14 when this came out on 1975. It blew all of our minds. This was the glam rock era. This was the first actual video..this is where they got the idea for MTV imo since MTV didn't premier until 1981. This all came from Freddie's head. He was working on 3 songs and found some way to blend them together in an epic Rock Opera.
@Marcus_10012 жыл бұрын
You couldn't be more right. This song is from a time when singers could actually *sing.* There was no auto tune to make someone seem like they have way more talent than they actually do. Freddie Mercury was not only one of the greatest singers of all time, he was one of the greatest showmen ever. He was so incredibly charismatic and the way he interacted with a crowd is unlike anything I have never seen to this day. It's like he put them in a trance. The rest of the members of Queen were also extremely talented musicians. They were not one of those bands where you could just get another guitarist or drummer. Every single one of them made significant contributions to the band's overall success. Great reaction, sir!

Queen is a British rock group that was formed in 1970 consisting of: Freddie Mercury - Lead vocalist and piano Roger Taylor - Drummer and vocalist John Deacon - Bass guitar Brian May - Lead guitar and vocals Queen was one of the most influential musical groups of the 20th century. Not only were all of the 4 members of Queen skilled and talented musicians, but they were also all composers and had top ten hit singles. Bohemian Rhapsody (BoRap) was composed by Freddie Mercury. Yes, there were wings on Freddie's jumpsuit. After all, his last name is Mercury - as in messenger of the ancient gods. This video (which, BTW is considered the first music video and was the catalyst for the creation of MTV) was recorded in 1975 while Queen was still in their Glam Rock phase. Queen was a group that grew and changed to reflect changing the tastes of the public. Queen produced 15 studio albums and had numerous hit singles that were gold and platinum. You said you know of "We Are The Champions". Well, you probably also have heard, "We Will Rock You" and "Another One Bites The Dust". Queen is one of the groups where they are even better LIVE than in the studio. Take one of my favorite songs is "Somebody To Love". The studio version is wonderful but the Live version, performed in 1981 in Montreal, will blow you out of the water. Queen was talented enough that they could perform Rock, Hard Rock, Soft Rock, Thrash Rock, Progressive Rock, Rockabilly, Glam Rock, Ballads, Soul, R&B, Disco, Folk, Opera, Funk, etc. Here's a list of Queen songs you should start with: 1 . Don't Stop Me Now - kzbin.info/www/bejne/fpjdeKqBrLGgna8 2. The Show Must Go On - kzbin.info/www/bejne/qmqcfHtmibdggJY (FYI this was recorded in 1991 just months before Freddie Mercury passed from AIDS-related pneumonia.) 3. Another One Bites the Dust - kzbin.info/www/bejne/qIqTiKudiL2Xe6c 4. We are the Champions - kzbin.info/www/bejne/fIGbYWuDnq-Ima8 5. Somebody to Love (studio version) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZrNoZaLq5KVbq8 6. Somebody to Love (Live version) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/l3KVeoWlhat8pJI 7. Under Pressure - (With David Bowie) kzbin.info/www/bejne/j6CnmZKdfampoc0 (Yes, Vanilla Ice stole the bass riff & used it in his song Ice Ice Baby) 8. White Queen - kzbin.info/www/bejne/nGnYpIGgad1shKM 9. Liar - kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5W6paugm9J-eZY 10. Killer Queen - kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIulpYOcbKuCpa8 Welcome to the world of Queen.

If you like varied genres, you really only need to listen to Queen. 😁 Because all 4 members wrote their music coming in with different influences the have music from multiple genres including rock, metal, rockabilly, folk, blues, gospel, funk, opera and more. The final lineup formed in 1971. They have 15 studio albums, 10 live albums and multiple compilation albums. The band: Freddie Mercury - vocals, piano, guitar. Had a degree in graphic design and designed all Queen's logos. Died of AIDS related illness in 1991. Brian May - guitar, vocals, piano. Has a PhD in astrophysics and consults with NASA. Built his guitar with his father out of an old fireplace and oak table and other odds and ends. Roger Taylor - drums, vocals, piano, guitar. I'm old enough to remember when this came out. I was in the Navy. This was the first music video that wasn't just recorded concert clips. You spoke of opera. The Who and Elton John actually made a "Rock-Opera Movie" named Tommy. Awesome music, strange story.

Watch the Queen set (20 minutes) at the Live Aid concert in July 1985. Absolute master class in both performance and audience control. Widely regarded as the best set of the whole concert which was in put on to raise money to ease starvation in Ethiopia.
