Queen is a British rock band that was formed in 1970 and was comprised of: Freddie Mercury - Lead vocals and piano Roger Taylor - Drummer and vocals Brian May - Lead guitar and vocals John Deacon - Bass guitar Queen has released 15 studio albums, 10 live albums, 16 compilation albums, two soundtrack albums, 2 extended plays, 73 singles, and seven promotional singles. Freddie's speaking voice fell in the baritone range but he delivered most songs in the tenor range. His known vocal range extended from bass low F (F2) to soprano high F (F6). He could also get up to tenor high F (F5). Freddie could escalate within a few bars from a deep, throaty rock growl to a tender, vibrant tenor, then on to a high-pitched, perfect coloratura, pure and crystalline in the upper reaches. Bohemian Rhapsody", which was released originally in 1975, is the creation of Freddie Mercury but he never told anyone what he was thinking when he wrote the lyrics. Freddie tended to write in metaphors so I would not suggest taking any of his songs literally. He wanted listeners to be able to apply to the song whatever meaning it had to them personally. Not what it meant to him. BTW - Freddie did admit that "Bohemian Rhapsody" was composed of three separate songs that he had been working on but could not seem to finish. So he decided to mash them together, adding some transitions and bridges, and created "Bohemian Rhapsody".

GREAT reaction and let me introduce you to the LEGEND, Freddie Mercury. He has gone down in history as one of the best vocalists (and the band too as they can all sing - better than some lead vocalists of other bands) of all time. Sadly we lost Freddie in 1991 to AIDS and there will never be another one like him. He was beautiful inside & out. Only a few months later the Triple Therapy for AIDS treatment came out, and it is heart breaking that it was too late for Freddie. I have been lucky enough to be present at Live Aid in 1985 when they performed the best performance in rock history (YOU MUST WATCH THE WHOLE 20 MINUTE PERFORMANCE OF IT) and then I saw them twice the following year in 1986 one again at Wembley (the old Wembley stadium) and then Freddie's ever last LIVE performance with Queen at Knebworth in August 1986. I was only 16/17 and am now 55 and have been a fan forever. Please please please do more Queen, below are some suggestions, once you're down that rabbit hole you'll never come back. Plus you'll get a MASSIVE boost to your platform as the "Queen Army" is massive. Do more Queen please. RIP you beautiful Persian Poppinjay (his own words as he was born in India and was born into Zoroastrian religion, his real name was Farrokh Bulsara) Freddie Mercury. Stay safe from Manchester UK Somebody to Love - LIVE at Montreal 1981 Save Me - LIVE at Montreal 1981 Now I'm Here/Dragon Attack/Now I'm Here Reprisal - LIVE at Montreal 1981 Love of my Life - LIVE Montreal 1981 One Vision - LIVE Wembley 1986 Another One Bites the Dust - LIVE Wembley 1986 Bohemian Rhapsody - LIVE Wembley 1986 Now I'm Here - LIVE Wembley 1986 Under Pressure - LIVE Wembley 1986 Live Aid 1985 - the whole 20 minute set Please MORE Queen

1975. 80's music is great but the 70's is excellent! The a cappella intro is only Freddie singing lead and harmonies which were multi tracked together. For a good intro to Queen, check out their 20 minute set at "Live Aid" in 1985 or Rock Montreal 1981, "Somebody To Love". Thanks.

👏👏👏 Welcome to the Queen’s world! You can find a huge catalog of their amazing and versatile songs and stunning live performances. You can choose any of them you will never be disappointed. Freddie Mercury was an untrained singer, never took singing lessons, he was a passionate and emotional performer with artistic veins, his live performances are legendary. “I remember Freddie coming in with loads of bits of paper from his dad’s work, like Post-it notes, and pounding on the piano,” May said in 2008. “He played the piano like most people play the drums. And this song he had was full of gaps where he explained that something operatic would happen here and so on. He’d worked out the harmonies in his head.”

Awesome reaction!! You have been introduced to Freddie Mercury, arguably the best voice in rock history and definitely the best band frontman ever. Your journey down the Queen path cannot be complete without Bohemian Rhapsody. In fact, your journey into great MUSIC of the past cannot be complete without Bohemian Rhapsody! Bohemian Rhapsody, was released in 1975 on the album "A Night at the Opera" which gives a hint as to the musical genre. Freddie Mercury was a huge fan of opera so this song was written as an operatic suite consisting of five distinct parts: an acapella intro, a ballad segment, an operatic passage, a hard rock section, and a reflective coda. Generally it is classified as rock-and-roll, but specifically as a "rock opera" and "progressive rock." Truth is, labeling any Queen song, or Queen the band, is next to impossible! "Bohemian" describes an unconventional, artistic style with freedom and individuality as key elements. "Rhapsody" in musical composition refers to a single work comprised of episodic, diverse pieces arranged into a free-flowing structure designed to heighten emotions. This song came to be because Freddie had pieces of songs he never completed, so he put them together, each section totally different yet masterfully blended into a truly epic masterpiece. It is the band's magnum opus, and is unanimously considered one of the best songs ever written. As for the meaning of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody", Freddie was purposefully vague. As with most of the greatest songs, the lyrics are written to be poetic and mysterious. Are they literal or figurative? As separate pieces initially, should the song have a singular meaning? Who knows! The meaning is open to interpretation for each listener to decide, based on how the music and lyrics touched them. You will read comments claiming the song's meaning, but the fact is, the entire band has never stating a specific meaning and has been firm that there isn't one, or if Freddie DID have a specific interpretation, he never shared it. Any assertion of the meaning pertaining to Freddie's sexuality are speculative and because certain groups WANT that to be the meaning.

Brits say this is a staple on the radio, but let's you know we may hear but don't always listen. Glad you were mesmerized by a song from 1975. Fans may talk about not interrupting here or there - but in the moment, a new experience...having a genuine reaction is the point. This song did alter the traditional rock song structure and changed how music was marketed. Big then, still big now.

It's always lovely to see young people reacting to this song. It's from 1975 and I was 13 when it was released. None of the "Big Stations" were prepared to give it air time except a DJ, Kenny Everett, who pushed it until it was accepted and we all gaped at it. It spent insane weeks at Number 1. It's worth being old now to have been young then. The 1970s were brilliant for music. Thanks for your reaction. ❤

Congratulations Stu, welcome to the world of Queen. Good reaction, I just happened upon your channel this morning that came up on my feed this morning. Good reaction too, something you may consider next time you react to Queen's music, 1. Must use headphones to hear the full experience of listening to their music, by that I mean the ones that cover your ears, I see you had the ones that fit in your ears. 2. Not that you did, but just in case for future reactions, we never interrupt Sir Brian May's guitar solos. (Lead Guitarist, vocals), Freddie Mercury (Lead vocals and Pianist) wrote this song when he was still in his teens and combined three songs together when given the opportunity to do so and then BOOM! A masterpiece was born! Rules in the music industry had to be broken for this to be recorded and released! Stu, you'll eventually learn that the music from Queen does not fall into one genre, they went all over the genre spectrum. Roger Taylor (Drums and vocals) he is the one who has the falsetto singing voice when a song requires it like in this song, and John Deacon (Bass Guitarist) they all have contributed to this band when it comes to writing music and creating hits. Oh, and by the way, this song was released in 1975; the album was called 'A night at the Opera' and they kept going with many more songs to listen to until the death of Freddie Mercury in 1991. I am glad you enjoyed this song and hope you get to listen to many others! Once again, I congratulate you on your first experience listening to Bohemian Rhapsody and welcome to the world of Queen! Peace. ☮

This song is from 1975, Queen started in 1970-1991, when Freddie Mercury (lead singer, best ever vocals-4-5 octave range, has even done opera with Monserrat Caballe’, piano), passed away. The other members are fabulous as well, geniuses in their own right, Brian May (lead guitar/vocal), Roger Taylor (drums, vocals, great falsetto voice) and John Deacon (bass guitar, genius in electronics). All their songs are GREAT, all kinds of genres, you can’t put them in any kind of box. Freddie’s voice and showmanship in live performances was just magic. Everyone is so in sync with each other while performing, they’re just so GREAT, I can’t say it enough. Anyway, hope you dive deep into the Queen rabbit hole millions of us can’t escape from, it’s so addictive. THEY’RE so addictive. (RIP Freddie, yes, you made so many people happy, and you still are. And no, you were never boring and no one has made your music boring. It still lives on, and Brian and Roger are still touring as Queen & Adam Lambert, but I never listen to that. Love you too much.)

This is a Rock Opera. Each of the four musicians have degrees in various areas unrelated to music. They all wanted to have an education to fall back on if Queen was not successful. Freddie Mercury wrote, directed, sang and arranged and produced the entire thing. This was released October 31st, 1975. My mother and all of us kids waited for the release. She told us that this song was the transformation of music and then, the 1980s happened. She was right! Freddie Mercury was a Musical Genius. I was 11 when it was released.

Some people are suggesting some of their live performances… This is definitely something you should check out at some point as they are magic live and that’s arguably the best way to experience them… But at the same time, I feel like it’s better to start with studio recordings, then save some of the best stuff for a treat later on… Like the Live Aid set was amazing, despite the singer being unwell and a few other potential issues… I’d save it for when you know most of the songs in the set, but it’s up to you. Queen have an amazing and varied catalogue of music… There’s some straightforward rock/pop songs, some that’s a little more electronic, some that’s more inspired by classic music, like this one… Some that simply rock hard, but also some really soft ballads… Some that are pretty experimental… If you’re still reading, here’s some of the other essential tracks to listen to: Another One Bites The Dust We Will Rock You + We Are the Champions (two songs often paired together) Don’t Stop Me Now Somebody to Love Who Wants to Live Forever? The Show Must Go On Under Pressure (feat. David Bowie) … And this is just a small sample of their hits… There are many great tracks that aren’t so commonly known too, but are still worth checking out… But this is probably enough to be going on with.

As he grew, they pushed his other teeth out of their normal positions, which has somehow helped to created his four octave vocal range. He is one of a kind. I believe this song is about him coming out of the closet to his family, his mother and friends. So the man he “killed” was old Freddie. Makes the song more powerful really. Metaphors are awesome.

Came for kpop reactions and i LOVE when people react to different genres! As hard it can be to believe I'm a 25 year old Brazilian who loves kpop and 60s-90s rock music (including metal) !!!! It makes me very happy when people are open minded enough to love different styles of music, congratulations on your channel!

The thing is, if a reactor doesn't react until the song is over, it's not really a reaction. I don't watch for music I've heard a jillion times. I already know I like it. I watch literally for the reaction. My generation has a strange sense of pride that these magical beings chose us to share their talent with, and we want to share it and see people experience it for the first time. If I want to hear a song uninterrupted I'll go to Spotify. NOW he needs to go back and listen straight through for the full effect.

Greatest vocalist of all time. Top three guitarists of all time. I’m not sure who would fit the last but Joe Satriani is another of my top 3 guitarists.

@@StuReacts Check out Live Aid. Read up on it first. Massive event. Queen, like all other bands were given 20 minutes. They made the most of it. Starts with a bit of Bohemian Rhapsody and ends with we will rock you and we are the champions.

Yes Freddie had THE greatest voice ever and this is one of the greatest songs ever too. But it's even better live, go check out Somebody to love - Montreal and/or the same song from that same Montreal concert. And once you learn more about Freddie...you will be very sad hearing how he passed and how sad one gets when seeing his last video, 'These are the days of our lives'

This song was in 1975. Freddie was the best front man ever and he could control a crowd like no other. All of the band members are incredible. Roger on the drums is the one that hits that high note in the this song and could be a lead singer with his amazing voice also. Brian the lead guitarist, writes many songs as they all do in this band and is fantastic on guitar, and John on bass although he doesn't sing much he is a great bass player and song writer. All band members have college degrees and are extremely smart and talented. Please do a reaction on their live aid concert and you will see some of his magic. Their live aid concert is said to be the best concert in history to this day. I am subscribing in hopes of more Queen and more 70's bands. The 70's was actually the decade of the most talented bands in history. Bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones and so many others. Thanks for the great reaction.

Freddie played the demo tape of this to his mate David Bowie asking if it would be a hit. Bowie said, “Never! It’s far too long. Audiences don’t like long pop songs.”. So glad he was wrong. Freddie wrote it and of course the main singer is Freddie himself of course.

*Queen - Somebody to Love - Live 1981* kzbin.info/www/bejne/o56pm6xqZq10Z7s *Live Aid (Queen) Full Concert [1985, London, Wembley Stadium]* kzbin.info/www/bejne/hn2scqNro9djp5I This is the ONLY full version as all the other are cut off in the beginning and end. This was a 12 hour music festival to raise money for starving people in Africa. Several bands played for free on 2 continents, London England and Philadelphia Pennsylvania with over 1 billion people watching around the world. Each band had a 20 minute set. Queen's set became the best of the whole thing. Even Elton John said to Freddie as he walked off stage, "How the fuck am I supposed to follow that?!"

Their is a HUGE audience for people reacting to music from the 50's to the 80's! You have NO idea how big. I watch at least 20 reactors that react only to older music .... all of it before 1990. It's been going on for at least 5 years now. Rob Squad Reactions seems to have the most subscribers (over 500,000) and the most comments, normally in the thousands on a regular basis.
