Oh my dear boy. I envy you right now. You’ve just started a journey down the rabbit hole of one of the greatest bands of all time. The front man is Freddie Mercury, that man could connect and control a crowd like none other. You’ve GOT to listen to their most iconic song of all time, possibly THE most iconic sone of all time..... Bohemian Rhapsody. Then, check out their full performance at Live Aid from 1985. Prepare for multiple eargassms. May your views and likes always be equal. Love your reactions, you’re so much fun.

Live aid was amazing, every band had 20 minutes, most turned up, played 3 songs. Queen planned it out and played a medley of all their greatest hits, cutting them down and transitioning between them.
@pennyrockysmomma44452 жыл бұрын
If I recall correctly, they also raised more money in 20 minutes than any of the other bands. Freddie was the greatest front man in rock history, he had a 4 octave range, he spoke in a baritone, but what his voice could do can't be duplicated, This young man on this channel has just been given his very first music lesson! I really hope he will research Freddie Mercury and Queen, and then he will be a lifelong fan. And I can't believe this is his first Queen song he's ever heard. Bohemian Rhapsody and We are the Champions are iconic!!!

They do understand Freddie's voice. His vocal range was from F2 to F6,,, so 4 octaves. That's unusual, but not unique by itself. The thing that separated his voice from others, the thing that makes it unique... is his vibrato. His vibrato is so wide, and he controls it so well. NPR did a special on it once! Very fascinating, very nerdy musical stuff.

Queen is a British Rock band formed in 1970 consisting of: Freddie Mercury - Lead vocalist and piano John Deacon - Bass guitar Brian May - Lead guitar and vocals Roger Deacon - Drummer and vocals Yes, Freddie had an amazing stage presence. Seriously, if he had asked them to jump, the audience would have screamed, "How High". BTW - This song was originally written and recorded by Queen and David Bowie jointly (David was a good friend of Queen and especially of Freddie) but they never performed it live together. Someone did mix this live performance of Queen singing "Under Pressure" with David Bowie and Queen performing "Under Pressure" at Freddie Mercury's Memorial Concert. Whoever mixed the 2 videos did an excellent job and made it look like Queen and Freddie were performing with David. Queen is one of the most influential music groups of the 20th century. Artists still sample Queen's musical creations (FYI - Vanilla Ice stole the bass riff from "Under Pressure" and used it in his song "Ice Ice Baby". He tried to claim that his rift was different because he added one additional note but, no one bought it.) Queen produced 15 studio albums, numerous Live albums, multiple gold and platinum hit singles, and played to huge audiences of sometimes over 250,000. Their list of "must listen to songs" include: “Bohemian Rhapsody” “We Will Rock You” “Killer Queen” “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” “Another One Bites The Dust” “We Are The Champions” “Somebody To Love” “Was It All Worth It?” “Don’t Stop Me Now” “Hammer To Fall” “You're My Best Friend” “I Want It All” “One Vision” “Tie Your Mother Down" ”A Kind Of Magic" “I Want To Break Free” “Fat Bottom Girls” “Innuendo” “Father To Son” ...and many, many more. Welcome to the world of Queen!

Freddie had a dynamic voice and Roger Taylor, the drummer, could sing incredibly high notes and filled in power for Freddie as he fell more ill. Freddie had a unique physiology. Most people only have one "wisdom" tooth at the back of each side (top and bottom), and they are in the way and have to removed, while Freddie actually had even one more tooth behind his "wisdom" teeth. Plus, his jaw was long enough that they grew in normally, giving him the odd longing mouth that he covered up with a mustache to look more "normal." But as a result of his odd-shaped mouth was more resonant than those of other people. There will never be another Freddie Mercury. Not only was he a musical genius, but he was also the greatest performer of his time.
@scotthannaford34202 жыл бұрын
They all wrote huge hits; Freddie is undoubtedly the greatest frontman in the history of rock; Brian one of the greatest guitarists; Roger one of the greatest rock drummers (who could also sing full songs whilst drumming) and John is, I think the most under-rated bassist ever. about 5 years ago, music journalists rated Queen as greater than the Beatles (due to concerts as well as songs). Queen at Live Aid is also, without a doubt, the greatest live music event. EVER.

"Freddie has a unique ability that still has not been truly replicated since. His ability to blend highs, lows and mid range notes cohesively and with immense precision. This skill was due to the fact that Freddie was able to create faster vibrato and harmonics than any other singer. Not only this, he was able to shift through registers effortlessly. Although he naturally held a baritone voice, he primarily sang as a tenor and of course had no problem then shifting into soprano parts. One study on Freddie’s vocal range even confirmed that he was able to vary from about 92.2 Hz to 784 Hz, meaning he was reliably able to hit notes from the booming low of F#2 to the high pitch G5 - that covers a full three octaves." I think he was asked one time how he has so much range and he told them. "It's these big ass teeth" xD

This concert at Wembley... and Queens performance.. is one of the four most influential and historical concerts of all time. Right up there with Jimi at Woodstock, The Beatles at Ed Sullivan and Beethoven conducting the 9th.

Freddie Mercury was one of the most amazing performers ever. He could hold an audience in his hand just standing on the stage and not moving. You really need to check out more of Queen. There is their classic, Bohemian Rhapsody, but look at songs like I Want to be Fee (the video of which was banned by some US stations) and Who Wants to Live for Ever.

I love your Queen reactions. It takes me back to 1991 when I discovered them. These are great, please keep reacting to Queen.

You have been taken by Queen - enjoy - they have dozens and dozens of hits. Stone Cold Crazy (Live at the Rainbow, 1974) shows their early and immense talent.

Queen's music covered every style you can imagine. This was their last tour with Freddie, in the Summer of 1986. You should check out their "Live At The Rainbow 1974" videos. They were badass, heavy rock players, with a lot of fantasy and also emotional themes here and there. Very dynamic and exciting. Imagine, these guys were being regarded as "exciting" and a "great live act" since their FIRST album in 1973. Always very professional, tight and always giving 110%.

The official version of Bohemian Rhapsody .... do that BEFORE any live versions. It is the video that helped create & launch the music channel MTV.

You asked who he is yet you reacted to Bohemian Rhapsody a year ago. He's Freddie Mercury and he's very probably the best frontman any band ever had. You have plenty of songs you need to check out, some of which you know but you don't know that you know them : The three (maybe four) you will probably already know: We Will Rock You. We are the Champions. Another One Bites The Dust. Don't Stop Me Now. Bohemian Rhapsody. Radio Ga Ga. (Yes, where Lady Gaga got her name from) Somebody to Love. (Watch the live Montreal 1981 version, not the studio mix...Trust) A Kind of Magic. (One that a lot of people miss out but it's from their amazing soundtrack to Highlander, they also made the soundtrack to Flash Gordon) One Vision. Lastly, probably my favourite Queen track: Who Wants To Live Forever (The official version, don't watch the live version because the official one has orchestral accompaniment that just makes it perfect)...also from the Highlander soundtrack and, if you hear it in the context in the movie, you'll be in tears).
