The stutter is not editing - they do it live - there are live videos floating around from concerts. this is a medley of 7 songs. the turquoise contact lenses irritated their eyes so not much blinking except Mitch. Kevin couldn't wear the lenses so wore the wrap arounds.

It is a medley of Daft Punk songs. That is them making themselves skip. Yes, they are making all those sounds. There is a live version of this where they are doing a private performance in a small room with no mics and they sound pretty much the same. Their original Love Again is an EDM vibe and is so freakin' good!!! ❤️🔥❤️They are all "made up" in that one even more than this one. Kevin and Avi kill it! You need to check it out. I have played it for many people and they do not believe me that it is acapella!

Daft Punk was a French duo who specialized in Electronic Dance Music (EDM) and techno music. They always appeared with masks (usually full headgear) to hide their identities. They were on the music scene for nearly 30 years, from early 90s to a couple of years ago. So they have a large catalog of songs to choose from, and PTX picked some of their most famous songs to include in this mashup. There are 7 songs in the medley (in order of how they appeared in the video): Technologic, One More Time, Get Lucky, Digital Love, Harder-Better-Faster-Stronger, Television Rules the Nation, Around the World.

Great reaction. It's a medley of Daft Punk songs - their greatest hits really. This video cost $400 and was made in Kevin and Avi's kitchen. The sound effects are all made by them, mostly Kevin as their beatboxer and Avi. They sing this song exactly the same live. You can see them singing it as a private performance in a hotel room, with nothing, not even a microphone and filmed on a crappy phone. It's amazing. The phone's microphone couldn't pic up Avi's low notes but apart from that it sounds incredible.

We LOVE that you're reacting to their old videos. Yes, Kevin is super-talented. He and Avi were a FORCE! This is a medley of seven Daft Punk hits, as I'm sure many others will tell you. The way they transition from one to song to another is so seamless that many reactors who aren't familiar with Daft Punk don't realize what a great mashup this is. If you like their stripped down one take videos, I highly recommend their "Evolution" series, especially the Evolution of Michael Jackson.

They scatted at the end of the part just before Kirstie did her little solo part. Tha rest before that were all editing. It's a medley of several of Daft Punk's songs. Daft Punk was a band of 2 people who always wore full motorcycle helmets disguising their identities. PTX did the basics of this in their apartments using a closet in Avi and Kevin's place for recording and their kitchen counter to film and edit it. They used a whole $400 for supplies, but sent it out for final "polishing". There's a joke that sorta goes with this piece: The group is deciding what to use or wear for the video, so... Scott says," I'm gonna look like Jack Frost and dye my hair and eyebrows white, man! " Kirstie chuckles and says, "I found this really cool blue wig and a tutu that I plan to wear around my neck...oh...and really awesome blue makeup and silver glitter!" Kevin pipes up and says, " Those contacts hurt too much, so I'm using this fierce pair of goggles I found" Mitch goes..." Meh, I'm just wearing this old sweater." Avi looks around and says, "...you guys are wearing clothes???" I recommend their original song Love Again which is also very EDM style.

They are not human. ❤Now that it's getting onto Halloween - look up their official video version of "Aha" - our five give a pretty creepy performance! (the earlier live performance in Singapore is definitely worth a listen, also - poor cellphone-recorded quality, but a slappin' good Mitch party)

What makes this even more amazing is the way this was made, they originally had a recording studio booked, but that fell through, so, on a budget of just $400 they went back to an apartment that was being rented by two of the groups members (Avi and Kevin), they recorded the sound in a bedroom closet, and the shots for the video in the kitchen, using a makeup ring light and a black light!! Also, Kevin is wearing the glasses because the contacts were too painful for him, Avi also had problems with the contacts, if you look closely you can see his eyes are red around the edges from the irritation they caused!

"Gotta respect the pumpkin" made me laugh. Another great reaction. It is amazing how good these guys are at seamlessly mashing up songs into a new creation. The arrangement of this is what earned them their first Grammy. Yeah, Kevin is really cool. They are all wonderful. Avi was always my favorite, but I think they are all fantastic. As a country boy, I think you might enjoy Avi's solo music. I don't think you've reacted to any yet. Most of it falls into the folk/Americana genre (with touches of soul, blues, bluegrass, and country). I'm going to Recommend Avi Kapln "First Place I Go" for his solo music and "Run to you" (referenced in the closing section of this video) for a PTX original.

During last years 2022 Christmas Tour... the band highlighted how the TRIO (Scott, Mitch and Kirsty) found Kevin before the Sing Off. He is an amazingly intelligent and talented man! Check out making Christmas, which sounds like a Christmas song, but it has an appropriate pumpkin theme. Lol also their Christmas music is so epic that truly it’s appropriate all year round, even people who hate Christmas music love their Christmas music. My favorite video of all time is PopSpring 2016, it’s a longer video, 15ish minutes or so and it’s a fan favorite so we will watch it. It’s 3 original songs and a medley that is sooooo good I don’t want to spoil the surprise. I promise you’ll love it. It’s all live, BUT recorded for MTV so the sound quality is on par with an official video!

You might be ready for “Aha live from Singapore at the star vista”…not sure though. You might need to hear a few more before you’re ready for that Mitch slap and Avi-lanch. Sound of silence is a good safe bet if you’re not ready for that yet. You should also check out “Masked singer California roll all performances and unmasking”. That should have won that, but everyone who knows Pentatonix knew that was Scott by the second line and knew it was Pentatonix as soon as Mitch’s voice came out. If you don’t have time to do the whole video (it’s over 20 minutes) check out at least the unmasking where they do “Creep” live.

I was also not familiar with Daft Punk until I heard this and recognized some of the songs. Yes, songs, plural as this is a medley of Daft Punk songs. They were a French Techno duo during the late 90’s and early 2000’s. Daft Punk won multiple Grammy’s for their music and Pentatonix won a grammy for this video. Just an FYI, PTX does very little technical stuff to their music recordings because they tour a lot and they know that their fans expect it to sound almost the same live as recorded. They do, however, do special visual effects with the video’s. If you watch some of their live stuff you will be amazed at how true to the recordings they are. A couple of songs you should check out are Imagine(Johm Lennon cover) and The Prayer. Love your reactions and thanks for introducing me to Tommy Johansson and Dan Vasc.

Looks like 7 songs from Daft Punk. Some are hard to spot like Kirstie singing Around The World towards the end. The little record scratch stutter they did is in the score, so they sing it manually. They don't use much in electronic tricks in their music. Pretty much just the standard EQ, echo/reverb and compression. They do a little autotune on one song because it was Cher's iconic blatantly autotune song. They'll do video tricks, but not on the sound. They often layer in the studio, so you may hear one person in two parts now and then, but then they still need to come up with a reasonable version for live shows because the fans want to hear it. The Prayer had some extra layering, so they need some backing track to pull it off in concert.
