We all knew the song well and of course The Midnight Special was apart of our lives , i still remember that night we watched him do the dance then when the song hit we were pleasantly surprised they were the artist. I understand Redbone is used because they were of Indian and Mexican descent.

Love this song so much...have older sisters who had/have great taste in music. Lolly, the lead singer, wrote this for his wife. She felt insecure about her looks, if she was really enough for him, etc. So to reassure her he wrote this. My husband and I've been married 33 years. He's my best friend, biggest encourager- he says he's my #1 fan and hype man! He's helped me through some awful times and never goes up. This song is my ringtone for him...and after 33 years we're still getting after that love. Enjoyed y'alls reaction - y'all look great together. Keep the love and the music alive!!

If your interest was piqued by music from Native people and you want to hear something contemporary give Snotty Nose Rez Kids "Boujee Natives" a listen.

Don’t like the beginning of the video at all. The version from the radio as a teenager was very enjoyable.

Appreciate your reactions but, it drives me crazy to see you using only one ear bud. You’re missing the stereo and fade effects that using both ear buds creates. That’s why they sell them in pairs. The greatest sin a reactor can commit, in my opinion. As a result, no subscription.

Yes in the 70's many songs split the vocals and instruments between speakers so the left isn't playing exactly the same thing as the right
