That song went double platinum -- two million records sold. No wonder his fans knew the lyrics.

This song was all over the radio. Overplayed actually. Great song but of course the radio has to ruin everything.

Have you heard of hunter Hayes? I know he’s not country anymore but he was my first and only concert and it was just like this…super intimate, and everyone was singing. These are the best concerts, make such powerful core memories.

These younger guys that have been coming up the last few years, have brought a whole lot of fans over to country. And there re a ton of variations within the genre. No cookie cutter stuff. This was a fun performance, but you didn't really get to hear him sing. LOL They drowned the poor guy out. Country fans love to sing along. In fact, if you check out any performances that are at country award shows, you will also see all the artists singing along in the audience. They truly support one another & aren't too cool to admit they know all the words to each others songs.

I know country music isn’t necessarily your lane here guys but….. if you want a good one to pull at the strings check out chase rice and the song is “bench seat” only thing is you have to watch the official video for it. Makes you think as well as rips the heart right out

If I remember correctly this was in Arkansas, the Birmingham thing is that it’s a reference to Tracy Lawrence’s “paint me a Birmingham”

He wrote this song for himself and wasn't going to record it, let alone perform it... he decided to sing it for an acoustic song.. and by the second chorus everybody was singing... so he kept playing it and the crowd just got more vocal each time... and he knew it was helping people other then just him.

I think its a bit of every genre that labels are messing things up. Labels are trying to appeal to EVERYONE! Just because someone with a "southern accent" does a song doesn't make it country. Tracy Chapman didn't write a country song. Its still not a country song. But since a sellout covered it theyre saying shes the first black woman to write a Number 1 country song.... No she didn't. She wrote her song which was amazing to everyone

About the line where he says i wish country music was still played on country radio. Country music was played on 96.5 but some Christian company bought it and moved country music to a differnt station.

Please, please, please! If you haven't listened to Garth Brooks, you might want to check his live performance videos. Great story teller country style. Songs like " The Thunder Rolls, "The Waltz" as well as "I Got Friends In Low Places" to name just a few. I know you will love his energy.

4:05 yeah theres a kinda rift in country nowadays most of the chart topper are more of a hybrid either into country-pop or country-rap. He’s calling out the country singer that just talking about drinking and driveling truck want to go back to when country told a story and taught a lesson. He’s still pretty green but you’ll probably enjoy Elliot Greer he another new country artist that picking up some traction. I recommend “Elliot Greer - 33”!it’s one of the best he has out, the message is fairly similar with it being a song about lose “Lowdown drifters - alright” is another good one if you want more of that country sound. Basically about whatever you go through in life you will make it through it Or if you want some good ole country rock try “jackyl - the lumberjack” let’s just say they use a very unconventional tool as a music instrument, very fun song tho

I’m from California and this song hit me hard… you don’t have to be from the South to realize how much of a masterpiece this is. I grew up in a small countryside town in Central California, then I lived with my grandpa in his Mexico farms for a bit too, and it sounds like Riley is describing my hometowns here. Different people can relate to different parts of music, that’s the beauty of music.
