For the first time on the channel, we are checking out Simon & Garfunkel performing their song "Bridge Over Troubled Water" and it was absolutely beautiful. I loved the unique character of his voice and the stripped back instrumentation of the performance! I cannot wait to hear what else they have out there! Hope you enjoy! #reaction #simonandgarfunkel #bridgeovertroubledwater #70smusic #70smusichits #musicreactions

Oops my bad...🤭 there's two live video versions of this song that I sometimes get confused over and suggest this one by mistake. It's really quite misleading to label this video Simon & Garfunkel but there's only Garfunkel singing in this performance. Anyway, my apologies. I will try to do better in future. 🙏 Here's another song by them, if interested' "Simon & Garfunkel - Mrs. Robinson (Audio)" [VEVO] (by the channel: Simon & Garfunkel) --This song is from their fourth studio album called "Bookends" released in1968. This iconic song gained popularity after being featured in the 1967 film "The Graduate" and reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and even won a grammy award for record of the year in 1969. And as always, I enjoyed rocking with you. Thanks for sharing. peace out~

You say: Love his vocals. The rest of us: Art Garfunkel was having an off night. This does not show how good or powerful Art's voice really is.

Yeah, alot of people weren’t a fan of this performance but I still enjoyed it. Especially, never having heard the song I have no other frame of reference. We will check out the studio version in the future to compare/contrast. Beautiful tune nonetheless. Thanks for watching!

I'm sorry to say this, and no disrespect to Art Garfunkel, but whoever insisted on this live performance has done you a disservice. Nothing can match the power and clarity of the original 1970 recording. Although, I will say the piano playing in this one was an improvement over the 1981 performance in Central Park.

I don't see the popularity of live versions for a first listen. That's not how we first heard it. Few voices get more powerful and add range over 30 years.

This is one of their most famous songs. The live versions are good but I much prefer the studio versions. I grew up listening to Simon & Garfunkel & had a lot of their records. Absolutely loved them & their harmonies. You won't find a bad song. They have had so many hits such as "Sound Of Silence", "The Boxer", "Mrs. Robinson", "The 59th Street Bridge Song", "Homeward Bound", "Kathy's Song", "Scarborough Fair", "At The Zoo", "Cecilia", "America", "I Am A Rock", "El Condor Pasa" etc. Paul Simon went on to have a huge solo career with lots of great songs.

You young people missed out on some great music. Simon and Garfunkel made epic music. Sound of silence, the boxer, Cecelia, the list goes on. Paul Simon's solo career did the same. Kodachrome, Call me Al (hysterical video w Chevy Chase) the list goes on

I like this one OK, but it really isn't as strong and harmonic as the first recording of it. I've already read all the comments before mine, and see that that's pretty much how everyone else feels about it, too. It's just that I learned the early version of it with the two of them in the recording, and it was a little smoother, a bit more "catchy," and really more awesome...to me, anyway. Now, there's a duo whom I love (they do a LOT of songs together), who covers this song in a SPECTACULAR way, that honors its beginnings VERY well: Peter Hollens (one of the earliest-ever KZbinrs) and Tim Foust (the bass from Home Free). Their video's title is "Bridge Over Troubled Water - Simon and Garfunkel feat. Tim Foust!" on Peter's channel. Peter posted it on Apr 27, 2018, shortly before he went in for hip surgery, to have the joint replaced (about a year after I had had both of mine replaced...I was happy to be able to encourage him about the results he would experience, which were successful and GOOD--both my two surgeries and his one surgery). Shortly AFTER that surgery, Peter did another REALLY great video, using an array of Freddie Mercury songs, which is SUPER great. I hope that you get the chance to check out both of those videos, even if you never react to them (but I hope you will, down the line). Anyway...I love the song itself, and I was happy to see that this live version is "out there" for others to see. It's such a powerful song. Thanks, Steven, for your reaction! 😀

when I first saw you were doing a live performance I was excited because I thought it was the live performance in Central Park where they were both there. I’m going to link the original song so you can hear it, Paul Simon writes them, and Art Garfunkel sings them. But then they fight for years and finally got together in Central Park live and sign this and sound of silence together and their voices were just beautiful. Still. But in fact, I think art sings Bridge over troubled water by them, self and Paul, you can see sitting in the background sound as Paul Simon wrote this beautiful lyrics, but art had the voice to sing them. I will link all three if you don’t mind, I hope you can react to them and I’ll be watching for them. I’m so glad I found you today.! original recording, which just shows the album cover: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aniQioR3lMemhbcsi=u0Wwad2N-r1WEySS Live bridge over troubled water in Central Park, art is singing, but you’ll see the Paul kind of sitting there in the background. Amazing. After all the years, he still has that voice and it’s better than the one you listened to. Personally, I think: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b2eWXp2qdsmaaposi=s0IVWCOXiHOJpGeN And here is them both singing sound of silence which Paul Simon wrote. I like disturbs version also but nothing can beat this one. It’s the original and they both saying and it’s just perfect. Art Garfunkel has a wonderful voice, but man, oh man, does Paul Simon have a way with writing a lyric, which is obviously held in his heart what he thinks of humanity & the world. I hope you enjoy: {dang I could only find the one I wanted you to hear with someone reacting to it but I found one that don’t interrupt match and that is the one I really really want you to listen to please you don’t even have to react to it. Ha ha. Just listen and enjoy.}} here you go: kzbin.info/www/bejne/epqumaikgsp8Z8Usi=0gCaeRy69qSjUH4Y

Actually Art's voice is SO much raspier than it use to be. He had severe vocal issues some years ago and wouldn't sing publicly for a while. In S&G's heyday....Garfunkel had the PUREST voice in the business. Go back and listen to the Concert in Central Park if you want to hear him live, THEN listen to the original recording. His vocals will blow you away!!!!

You just listened to the worst performance of this song, I was shocked, Art must have suffered vocal cord damage or something. beautiful, brilliant, heartfelt song -- definitely.⬅ authentic, unique tambor -- absolutely.⬅ constant, strained notes -- painful to hear.⬅ Unfortunately, this was not a Simon & Garfunkel performance. It was Garfunkel, 30 years past his prime, singing a Simon & Garfunkel song. While Art Garfunkel was the primary singer on the studio track, Paul Simon was the author, and this performance completely left out their two-part harmony section. It was Paul who had to convince Art to be the primary vocalist.⬅ I understand your desire to see a live performance. Which, technically, you did get here. But if you want to hear Art Garfunkel at his truly amazing peak, listen to the studio version. What he was straining to reach here, he achieved there, far surpassing whatever this was.
