Ians songs explore his bp1 and as he revealed recently also his DiD, the character whose colourful and out of this world who he dubs “mr insanity” represents him when he is in his manic *highs* and the guy who appears and makes the mv black and white is known as “mito” who is his manic lows, i HIGHLY recommend going through each of his works starting from “so beautiful” where he introduced mito!! I love dpr ian cuz hes a bigger arts who openly shows and talks abt his bp1 and did and how living with it affected his life and it also rlly helps others feel solace in his music

Until this whole "Mr. Insanity" arc came kicking, in my absolute favourite was Scaredy Cat so it would be cool for you to check it. But, to be honest, I think it would be the best for you to start from the very beginning, because all the videos tell one big story Also, as far as I know, Ian is a co-founder of Dream Perfect Regime, so it's not like the company gives him this cool concept, he has full creative control

DPR is a creative collective label. so a bunch of creatives basically came together and created their own label to be able to make projects, Ian being one of the founders. Ian not only is an artist but also directs, films, edits, produces, literally everything! he is an ultimate ace and amazing artist !! He has stated that he always starts out his process with a story and that combined with his history of film making, is why i think his music videos always are like movies. if you haven’t watched it yet his whole MITO movie for his Moodswings in to Order album is an incredible album but the visuals/storytelling was top notch. another artist under DPR label is DPR Live who i think you would love as well! Ian has helped in Live’s music videos as well !

DPR Ian is so very interesting not just an artist, but also as a person. I highly suggest watching the interview that Zach Sang did with him, it goes really in depth. Might be the closest thing to an "introduction video" and it goes into the lore Ian is trying to paint in his MVs. Of course I also suggest watching more of his music videos, especially the mini movie he made (MIITO MOVIE) which features songs from his 2nd album. All of Ian's videos (and to an extent, DPR as a whole) are absolutely stunning, so you can't go wrong with them.

The storyline is what he's experiencing in real life it's pretty complex but its based on his bipolar and DID which means: Dissociative identity disorder... What's crazy is that he's not acting those characters he knows when he's going to switch they are real personalities in Ian's body Mito is one of his personality and as you can see towards the end Mito has a different view on music he's more into the darkness and likes stronge beats

Oh, I'm so glad you've started your journey into the world of DPR! In fact, I think that ALL the works of the DPR team are masterpieces. Music, video, effects, production, stories... Everything is at the highest level. I would advise you to start by looking at works from Ian’s first album “Moodswings in this order” (or “MITO”): “So beautiful” “No blueberries” “Nerves” “Scaredy cat” You can also watch a video where he talks about the creation of this album: "Memories in disorder" Official "MITO" DOCUMENTARY. This is very interesting! The second album is called "Moodswings in to order" (MIITO). Here it is absolutely necessary to watch MIITO MOVIE (PART I). And another album "Dear Insanity..." is coming out soon.

Check out all of his songs! His major influenced was daft punk, Jamiroquai & the Neptunes, he also a metal head.. you can hear the influenced styles in the music he produces.. it's so genre fluid.. Check out his older releases, also mito movie which is the introduction a character based on his DID alter, MITO. His new releases portray another of his alter, Mr. insanity.. if you love psychedelic trippy style genre this arc is for you.. this visual production is on par with a well produced movie 🙂

to get to know Ian more he did an interview with Zach Sang show that even though it’s long you get a look into his thought process, his struggles, and how genuine he is. Ian is also known for having very contrasting audios vs visuals. Example: No blueberries

-not sure how much of this you’ll understand especially since you just discovered DPR but during IAN’s first two albums he tells us about MITO who represents his bipolar dips and with phase two we have Mr. INSANITY who represents his highs. Sometimes I wonder if Mito know that Mr Insanity isn’t actually aware of him. In my fan theory it feels like both are fighting for Ian’s attention and both are just as “bad” as the other and Mito knows more about Mr Insanity while Mr Insanity is oblivious to everything except destruction in his own way.
