Don't Blame Me from the Reputation Tour! It is amazing!

You asked about Taylor as a person in this reaction so I’ll point you to her Netflix documentary Miss Americana. It goes into her as a person, her writing method, her psychology, and touches on her defining career moments both good and bad. I was only casually interested in Swift prior to watching but the doc made me respect and admire her so much more.

The Netflix documentary Miss Americana is worth watching if you want to know her on a more personal level, like more of Taylor the person and her struggles. Musically, her discography is amazing, it spans the 'eras' of her career. All Too Well 10 Min Version + the short film (she directed that). But yeah Don't Blame Me from her Reputation Tour or We're Never Getting Back Together (rock version) if you want more of the epicness of her stage presence.

The thing about Swifties is we *always* appreciate newbies who come in open-minded enough to give her a real chance. And we especially love when newbies are so appreciative of her. It makes me happy as a Swiftie to know that you feel welcomed into the fandom.

I think she's been this popular for well over a year! She's been huge since before this album even came out, though this one definitely skyrocketed her with it's new style. I think her shows have blown up considerably, though, because of the work she's put in. It's really amazing to see. She was good when she started! But back then her voice wasn't nearly this strong live and her stage presence wasn't either - she's worked extremely hard to project that level of confidence, dance and perform at this level, and keep near studio-quality vocals. I really love seeing artists come into their own on stage!

It is partly Taylor's fault guys don't listen to her. She is known for picking the worst singles, especially the first one off new albums. For instance, Shake it Off has a great message but is a very annoying song. It didn't help that it was played nonstop in every store. Many people, especially guys only remember that song. They forget that people evolve and get older.😊

When you spoke about her confidence - the crazy thing was this tour was her “redemption tour”, her comeback after she had been bullied by the whole world (led by Kim & Kanye) and literally gone into hiding. She came back SWINGING with a banger of an album and a stadium tour, but was worried people wouldn’t come. It turned out to be one of the biggest tours in history. She is not far behind the top 6/7 selling artists of all time. If she carries on going what she is doing in 15 years time she will break every record in the music industry. Hoooboy, as to what she’s like? Well, that’s another thing that fed into this album: she’s the kind of person who is genuinely shocked she wins an award, even if she’s won other awards. It got to the point that people couldn’t believe she was sincere in her surprise. But keeping in mind that none of us actually know her and just off the top of my head: * she was sexually assaulted by a DJ (she did a meet’n’greet, he reached up her skirt and grabbed her and it was caught in camera); dude was fired and sued Swift for defamation. She counter-sued for battery and sexual assault, demanding a dollar, not for the money but the principle - and to empower other victims of sexual assault. (Something she also supports with money.) (Edited to add: she won, but the wanker has not paid her.) * she paid over $55 million in bonuses to the riggers, truckers, caterers, dancers.. all the people who made the Eras tour possible. This amounted to at least $100,000 a person (£81,000), which is a life-changing amount for most folks. Each check came with a personal note from her, and people are reporting that they were very personal notes… because she takes the time to get to know the people who work for her. * she invited fans to her house to have listening parties for an earlier album. She nervously baked cookies because she wanted people to feel welcome. 😂 * she stalked fans social media and then sent Swiftmas gifts - if you ever wanna cry, watch the video that was eventually released. She selected the gifts, wrapped them, wrote personal notes… * she’s very involved in children’s hospital programs, both donating but also just stopping by to hang out with the kids and play music * her fight with Apple Music resulted in small artists who were being hurt by Apple streaming music without paying for three months getting payment (and more than they were supposed to). She didn’t need to do that…. But knew she was a big enough artist she could force Apple’s hand * when she signed to a new label, she chose Universal because they accepted a contract stipulation that whenever Universal sells Spotify shares, it has to pass on a percent to all the artists they manage - AND that money doesn’t count against advances (which is a HUGE deal) * at every stop on the Eras tour, Swift wrote very large checks to local food banks and organizations associated with the nonprofit Feeding America. Which is wonderful in itself… but also savvy AF, because it put small local food bank names into the mouth of the national (and on some days, international) media… causing even MORE donations. It’s also opened up the media conversation about food insecurity. * An Instagram post encouraging people to register to vote was responsible for over 35,000 people registering to vote in one day * she’s kind to her friends, lending one a house to live in while undergoing an acrimonious divorce, * she helped Kesha with living expenses when Kesha lost a lawsuit against the producer she accused of assault And there’s a lot more stories - these are just the ones I remember right now!

She does 44 songs in her Era's tour, every performance! With all this dancing & all that production! Amazing! I can't imagine how she does it! She has millions & millions of loyal fans. My favorite about her is that she writes all those songs herself. And her fans love her because she gives to them in so many ways. Visiting sick kids in the hospital or fulfilling wishes. She has literally had girls from her fan club come to her house for a sleepover. She has recently started dating an NFL football star & ticket sales for his games have gone up over 400%, because her fans are going to see if she will be in the skybox, watching Travis Kelsey. The NFL is thrilled of course & have the cameras on her ALL the time! LOL Playing it up, so they will sell more tickets. Lordy be. To see how much she has grown as an artist, check out one of her songs from her early days. She was a baby & the songs are great & the music written by a kid, were amazing. It is totally different from this powerhouse rockstar, more like you were picturing, yet still awesome, & why I fell in love with her... and I am a great grandmother. LOL Her first single, that began her career was called 'Tim McGraw', released in 2006, when she was 17 & has great lyrics. She had to sing it at an award show in front of Tim, having never met him & she said she was a nervous wreck. Now, she has done a song WITH him, called 'Highway don't care'. It's fun to see her before she got all that sass & confidence & just see the sweet girl next door. Other great early tunes are 'You belong with me', 'Love story' & 'White horse'. Now she is a full-on Diva & yet is so down to earth, she is amazing.

AHHHH Im so excited to see you experience all of this :D Have a great day and thank you for your positivity

YES to all of those, stumbling across the Grammy Museum performances is actually what made me a fan. Also, not all of her songs and performances are as "bombastic" as the performances you have watched, so you might want to be prepared for some whiplash. She has everything from slow folk-y music to pulsating synth pop

15 years ago, when my daughter's were 4 and 6, I took them to see Taylor while she was promoting Fearless in a small town in southern Indiana. It was the very first concert I ever took my girls to, and since then, there have been many more concerts attended. But watching you - a grown man, who felt that they *shouldn't* like it on principal - experience it and be moved the way you were ... brought me to tears. Whether you are seeing her incredible productions or listening to her sing while sitting on a couch, in a recording studio, in the middle of a pandemic, the thing that remains true is her gift of reaching others through the genius of her writing. In her words, she's not a singer who is a songwriter, she is a songwriter who sings.

Fun little fun tidbit is that Taylor's Reputation album was inspired by Game of Thrones. She's said before: "These songs were half based on what I was going through, but seeing them through a 'Game of Thrones' filter." Look What You Made Me Do is inspired by Arya's kill list.

She is the sort of person who already achieved every success a person can reach and still hustled to become better and better at her craft because this is what she loves to do. She already had 2 AOTY grammys on her shelves when she levelled up her dancing and vocal performance to new heights in order to be the best at what she does. She was already leading the biggest most desirable tour in the world when she gave 55 million in bonuses to her crew on tour with her. She deserves all the hype she gets, for the work she puts into the thing she decided to dedicate her life to at 12 years old.

She has THREE AOTY Grammys. Amazing, isn't she...
@lauravsthepage11 ай бұрын
@@thinedge yeah 3 all together! I said two because I find the sharp uptick in her vocal skills came sometime around 1989, her dance skills too was significantly increased between 1989 and Rep. In general I think she was hustling hard in that time between 1989 and Rep. As Jack Antonoff said (I think around Lover’s release?) “people this good don’t usually work this hard”

I'm a mom of a Swiftie. I went to The Eras Tour Concert Movie with my Swiftie daughter. I went mostly just to spend time with her, I really didn't care about it being Taylor Swift. That changed. I had the same type of reactions you're having. Taylor is amazing. It's incredible how she turned the music industry BS around on them. Now I'm a 50 something mom with a 25 year old daughter and we both listen to Taylor Swift. My favorite from The Eras Tour was Ready For It and Blank Space.

The “Reputation” album & tour were very emotional for Taylor. I think you’re feeling that. The documentary Miss Americana explains what all it meant to her. You’re just feeling how strongly *on her side* that huge crazy crowd was. Every single person there was screaming, hoping she would feel how much they love her.

This is in answer to all the labeling media has burdened her with... She takes that and uses that very attack to re-create herself in utter and total defiance of their narrative. It is an AWESOME thing to witness and is the most inspiring thing I've seen in decades. LOVE IT! Woman power!

If you’re interested in reacting to any studio versions of her songs, I recommend “august”, “cardigan”, “champagne problems”, and “right where you left me.” Really almost anything from her albums folklore and evermore. They’re a huge tone shift from the songs you’ve reacted to so far and I think really highlight her storytelling. I say the studio versions because it may be hard to find good, full length videos of them live. Her performance of august, illicit affairs, and my tears ricochet on the eras tour is beautiful. Those 3 songs transition into each other so I think it’s best to watch the whole thing. But again, I cant seem to find a good video of the whole performance.

I love your reactions to TS. she is all around EPIC. you asked during this reaction about who is Taylor... what is she like..? if you truly want to understand who she is and why she boasts the confidence she does in her songs and performances, you REALLY need to go through all of Taylor's eras from the beginning. her songs are LITERALLY her life. all of her songs are pieces of her life and her progress in life through the music industry and under the constant scrutiny of the public and tabloids. if you go back and live her music through her eras and do some online homework about the drama that has tried to engulf her and her career, you'll understand everything and have a full understanding of why she is a bad ass on stage today. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Also I highly recommend reacting to "Cruel Summer" by Taylor, One of her best. One of the main things that makes me love Taylor so much is the fact that she writes all of her own lyrics/songs so even the songs I don't necessarily care too much for I still appreciate because its still her words, The authenticity is what draws me in and has made me such a huge Taylor Swift fan. And you are one of the if not the sweetest most genuine person on this platform that I have came across. Really hope to see more Taylor reactions from you!

I love your reactions to Taylor Swift! I've had mixed feelings about her throughout her career, listened to them here and there, but this past year, I've gotten right into all her music and come to realise just how amazingly talented she truly is. She's a brilliant singer, lyricist, storyteller, and performer. I really admire her given everything she's been through, yet here she is, smashing through boxes and labels and shining like the star she was born to be ❤🌟 I suggest the live performance of "Don't Blame Me" or "Look What You Made Me Do" music video. Both are incredible. If you like "...Ready For It" live, then the music video to that is also amazing 😊

She does dip her toe into several different ones. I highly recommend you react to Don't Blame Me and King of My Heart from the Reputation Tour. It's been amazing sharing our love of Taylor over the years! And knowing that they have such a powerful, talented, kind, generous, just damn GOOD person as a role model is such a blessing for a mom.
