The Beatles had so much range. If you listen to their 20 most popular songs you'll hear 20 completely different styles. You'd have a hard time finding any genre of modern music that the Beatles haven't had some influence on either through their music or their pioneering advancements in recording. Greatest band ever.

And literally half the standard techniques used in all studio recording today.. from rock, to hip hop.. comes directly from the Beatles. The first drummer they had stood out and was heard and they fired him I think is what they said in the interview. The second one they kept cuase he wasn't heard in the music.

The Beatles changed rock and roll music forever. They were one of the first groups to write and sing their own songs. They were innovative, and tried different approaches and sounds. Everyone was blown away by how they kept evolving....we were always waiting for their next album to see what they did next. That's why they are held in such high esteem in the world. Listening to one song just doesn't even begin to show you what they were.

your a 100 percent right in what you say. the BEATLES changed everything, the also had a moral compass the always pointed in the right direction. They were brave and fearless in their views on life. They were great as individuals and as a group of young men, their position in this world will only strengthen as time evolves. They are the first modern musical band that will span the centuries. At least I hope so. The not only wrote outstanding music but also out standing words and lyrics. they mobilised the English Language and created and mobilised modern music. Long live the Beatles memories onwards and into the future.

They evolved over the years and created music that was pop, rock and roll heavily influenced by Blues, Folk, Country, and moved into areas that were experimental and defied definition. They were all brilliant musicians and their music still reigns in the industry.

The Beatles have so many great songs , they are like Elvis Presley, as far as being 'known' if you go back and see the reaction of fans from when they first come to America-OMG-them girls done lost their minds, screaming, cheering, and fainting. Every band member was so good and all put out their own songs also, but Paul McCartney was the driving force behind the band and used to lay all the tracks down himself to songs(like all the instruments of the band). I love your reactions!

You can't listen to one song and "get" the Beatles. Their works are a progress, a development, an anthology that relate to the times in which they lived. They went from simple, but good compositions to complex compositions worked with orchestra and arranged professionally. As the world changed, their lives and their music changed. You can go from one album to another and get a totally different message in a totally different style. They really were exceptional as a group.

He took us to see Jerry Lee Lewis when I was in kindergarten, to the Osmonds, Elvis Presley when he came to Oklahoma and on and on. Even back in 1961 when The Beatles formed in Liverpool, England, the haters said they were no good... but these 4 young guys changed music forever in just 10 years before they parted ways in 1970. The Beatles were kids in school who heard rock n' roll music from America in 1957 and decided they wanted to play music... they wanted to be like Elvis, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis. John Lennon had to learn to play guitar, and after he met Paul McCartney, the two were determined to make music together... George Harrison came in on guitar, and by 1960, they were playing shows as a rock n' roll band in bars and clubs. Paul McCartney switched to bass, and then drummer Ringo Starr joined in 1962... Starr said The Beatles were the best rock n' roll band in the scene even before he came in. The record industry in 1962 thought The Beatles were crap, but producer George Martin took a chance on them. In 1963, The Beatles released their first album after their early singles in 1962... they started touring the UK and quickly became a British sensation. They were also 4 good-looking lads and the girls went wild for them when they played shows. After a year of touring Europe and becoming the #1 band there, they finally scored a #1 single in America - 'I want to hold your hand' in late 1963. Beatlemania took over the USA in early 1964 when the Beatles came to America for the first time. That year, they had the top 5 singles... a movie and were a huge draw on TV and in concert. Their records sold millions of copies worldwide. However, by 1965, The Beatles were so huge that they could not appear in public without chaos erupting... the crowds got so loud at their concerts that they couldn't hear themselves play. Frustrated by their public situation, The Beatles announced in 1966 that they were done touring. They wanted to focus on writing and recording new music from that point on. Beatles records from 1967 got more experimental and musically explored instrumentations, various styles and visual promotion... Their records sold even more, despite them not touring... they used session players and strings on their records. But internal differences led to friction between the 4 members by 1968... After recording the 1969 album 'Abbey Road', John Lennon announced he was leaving the band... In 1970, Paul McCartney sued the Beatles to terminate the band's contracts and also to account for all their finances after Paul had suspected that their manager was stealing from them. All 4 members - John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison & Ringo Starr went solo in the 70's... Sadly, John Lennon was shot & killed in late 1980 by a deranged fan... George Harrison passed away in 2001 from cancer. The Beatles' records actually sold more copies after their breakup than during their career.

Hey bro's! Just to let you know, that crazy distorted guitar you hear in the beginning was achieved by turning every button on the recording console to 10! It overloaded the mixer... on purpose. Unheard of in that time era. And when you're talking about The Beatles, their music is extremely diversified. From their pop rock revolution of the Beatles British invasion to the experimental wild psychedelic end phase, they were highly influential because they were a head of the pack!

I was coming home one afternoon and a couple were out item into the large garbage bin of our apartment. There was a stack of albums on the ground and I asked what they were doing with them and they said if I want them I could have them. When going through them wow there was The White Album in A-1 condition. My lucky day.

I am SOO happy to see you reacting to the Beatles. Greatest and most influential band of all time. I really think you would love the back half of their catalog. Check out ‘Come Together’, ‘Helter Skelter’ and ‘Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’. Each album is completely different from the last. Check out ‘Good Day Sunshine’, ‘Because’ and ‘Here Comes the Sun.’ I’ve seen Paul McCartney (bass player) 3 times in concert. Most recently this past Summer. He’s 81 and still puts on a 3 hour show with no front band. They revolutionized rock music. ❤

It spreads to all modern music. Besides the music itself.. their recording techniques have influenced every form of music. They were the first to dub in other sounds, lay multiple tracks, play speed up and slow down tracks, plays sounds in reverse.. heck.. half the recording and studio techniques used even in modern hip hop can be directly traced to the Beatles. When it debuted.. no one had EVER heard anything like Sgt.pepper. it could very well be the single most influential album in music history. And their diversity as musicians was amazing. Between them they could play 25 instruments. And they came up the hard way.. before breaking huge in the states.. they played the toughest dive bars in Germany for a year. Places where guys would literally throw beer bottles at the stage like road house.

They even did the first sampling. At the end of I Am The Walrus (recorded in 1967), they turned on the radio and taped whatever was playing (a radio play version of King Lear), and then dubbed that onto the end of the song.

Those glasses were National Health glasses that were provided by the government for free. He had to wear them as a kid and hated them. His Aunt managed to get him a proper pair when she could afford it that he wore later. When he appeared in the movie How I Won The War the director had him wear the round glasses for authenticity and he grew to like them. He felt they were the easiest to see through and wore them into the 70s.

Revolution is a great song to start your Beatles adventure with. They created a ton of music over a decade that spanned so many forms. They wrote all their own music. They were all gifted musicians who got their start by listening to and playing blues inspired music in the 50s that was underground here in clubs in the US and only in black communities but not on the radio. Many black R&B musicians had made it popular overseas. In Europe R&B was all the rage. Elvis sort of mainstreamed it here in the US but it was the British Invasion of the 60s when tons of white boys from England came here with their bands that really launched rock snd roll here in the US to the mainstream market. The Beatles really struck a chord here that lasted a long time snd inspired so many young people to embrace rock and roll as their music. Two of those four are still alive, Paul McCartney snd Ringo Starr. John Lennon was killed by a crazed fan. George Harrison died of lung cancer cuz everyone smoked back then. Of the four, I think George Harrison wrote some of the most beautiful of the Beatles songs such as While My Guitar Gently Weeps. John Lennon write the most insightful and introspective songs like Imagine. McCartney wrote a ton of their love songs like Michelle. Ringo wrote some of the most pop and quirky songs like Octopuses Garden. The Help and the Rubber Sole albums have some of I think their best music. They had some many hits that it took two double albums to cover them.

Beatles were big on love, peace and equally amongst all races. Lennon had close relationships with the Black Panthers. They believed in love and fought discrimination. What they were pushing for was really beautiful... specially during a time when human rights was life and death. Watch some documentaries, read about them. The did a lot in waking people up to a new reality and I will love each and everyone of them for it. They were inspiring. Peace and love to you all

Hey guys! Enjoying watching your first listen to my favorite group. Suggest that you try listening to all of their albums, starting with their first thru the final one. After that, check out the music they put out after the Beatles separated. It might take you a few songs to get used to and appreciate their style, especially on the earliest stuff. But you will hear how likeable and distinct even the early songs were. Paul and John wrote and sang lead on a lot of the songs. George also wrote and sang some amazing songs. Ringo was their drummer. Not only did he do some amazing drum work thru all the various songs, but he also sang lead on a few. They worked with a producer, named George Martin who helped them figure out how to pull all their musical together. It's hard to express how amazing their combined talent grew. Their combined experience in the band grew them into talented individual artists who put out some great material on their own. Hope you decide to take the journey. I'm sure you'll become fans and I look forward to sharing your reactions.
