The Dells' two incredible lead singers were Marvin Junior (baritone) and Johnny Carter (first tenor, on the right). They traded lead on many of their songs. Not long after both of them died -- Carter in 2009 and Junior in 2013, the group stopped performing.

"Oh What A Night" & "Stay In My Corner" are a couple of the mighty Dells songs you will want to check out. We last saw them perform in a packed venue in Los Angeles. My husband & family are from Harvey IL (I worked there) where the Dells grew up and lived so they are close to everyone's musical hearts . They started singing in high school in 1952. One of them lived in the back house where a cousin used to live in Harvey. Back in the 1950's it was a great to go to a house party where the young Dells would sing & my late hubby (who would be 82) got to tag along with his older sister or their mother wouldn't let her go. The Dells sang their soulful heart out for 60 years and their catalog of songs are here to stay & enjoy.
