The production back in the day is different than today's music. The voices back in the day were used like instruments with 3, 4, and 5-part harmony.

I'm sure others will have their favorite Dell songs, this was always my favorite. Always felt like they pulled out all stops to create this wonderful selection. Most ballad songs back in 50's and early 60's clocked in the 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 minute mark. They took this to the 6 minute 13 second mark in 1965. I lost my vinyl 45 single but later found a 'best of' CD that I purchased just to hear this song again. Thank you!

We were cruising in cars sitting right next to our boyfriends and listening to this music on the radio..then it was time to find a quiet, romantic place to park. Ya feel me?

There’s NO Way!!! Barry White, could’ve done that…Although, Barry did come with His Own Orchestra!!! I do admire Barry 4 that!!! They’re coming from entirely different Era’s!!! Listen to that long pause. The 1st voice!!! Marvin Junior. That shrill voice, whom belonged to Johnnie Carter. They stood sometimes back to back or opposite ends. They are now deceased except for Vernon Allyson, & Mike McGill. From the city of Chicago!!! Good for you for discovering something new!!! Yaaaaaa!!!!

We were of a different generation, when men were mature enough to love women. These last few generations of men don't know what love, or "grown folk's" music is, which is why they don't understand the music. In my day, grown men where too mature to be ashamed of their feelings.

This is considered Doo Wop! Four part harmony had to have a sweet falsetto voice and a strong baritone voice able to harmonize. Check out their song Nadine.

That was a group. Barry White couldn't do what they do. Listen to the voice at the end for how long he holds the note. The name of that gentleman was Marvin Jr. And, unfortunately, he died in 2014. By the way, the other high voiced gentleman was Johnny Carter. He died, I think in 2004. Look it up. Anyways, there, I Should say, I haven't heard anyone else to match that voice. They started in the 50's & 60's-80's. Anyway love ya!!!
