This is southern rock at it's finest. The flute solo at the beginning & end is great. Love their music from the 70's. Some of their other big hits were "Fire on the Mountain" & "Heard It in a Love Song". Southern rock fiddler Charlie Daniels did quite a few collaborations with them.

"Feeling some type of way" - Shon, that's exactly what good music does to you. This is pure talent right here. Live and in perfect sync. Toy Caldwell, lead guitarist, also lead singer on this song. Purple Heart recipient for the Vietnam War. Known as the fastest thumb in the south, thanks to his amazing guitar strumming. RIP. Toy. We miss you. If you want to get into more southern rock, definitely the big three: Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Allman Brothers, and Marshall Tucker Band.

RIP Toy Caldwell. You’d enjoy Take the Highway and This Ol Cowboy, as well as all the others mentioned here. It’s southern rock, but they throw a blues twist in there that just hits you right where it matters. I love these guys!

Had that happen to my Mother's Finest "Another Mother Further" cd. Stayed stuck in my car player for over a month. I didn't care. I played it anyway. It finally came out and a few days later I put it back in and listened to it again.

This song may be absolute perfection. There are so many things to talk about; I just want to mention the chord progression D-C-G-D. They use it over and over, and it never gets old. It's a progression that just works. Another song that uses it is the Eagles "Seven Bridges Road".

Noted for incorporating blues, country, and jazz into an eclectic sound, the Marshall Tucker Band helped establish the Southern rock genre in the early 1970s...OTHER HITS INCLUDE; HEARD IT IN A LOVE SONG, AND FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN...

Excellent reaction This is one of my favorite songs. It just has it. The flute, beautiful. Love when bands then used different instruments with their guitars. The song creates an environment just where you're at. Not considered country, but rock by our generation. " can't you see?" LOL.

This boy was certainly coming from somewhere, as he had just come home from Viet Nam. You know that ole story from the soldier, usually starts with a envelope from his woman back home, saying how loyal she is, when she is shacked up with some rich lil college boy. Yes this was the Grit only a USMC Vet can deliver.

Something else I know you would love is 'Henry Paul Band - So Long'. 1979. Give your ears a treat sometime soon. Cheers.

Went to college in Macon, GA home of The Allman Brothers (at the time), welcome to Southern Rock! Another good one by MTB is "Take The Highway." Lots of great bands that recorded on The Capricorn label. A lesser known band that used to open for The Allman Brothers was called Eric Quincy Tate. They have a great song called "Things I Think I'll Find," from their LP - Drinking Man's Friend ! Love your reactions bro !✌👍
