Marshall Tucker Band is so underrated. They are still one of my all time favorites since first hearing them around 1972-73. How Toy plays so well with just his thumb is remarkable and seriously difficult. His fretboard work is great to get so many notes out with his thumb. Great reaction.

@itsmira-j We were blessed with music. We see it now back then, it was just normal. One song after another. We were blown away so many times. And when we thought we didn't want to hear one more guitar solo, the solo surprised us every time. Try " my guitar gently weeps" with prince. Pink Floyd, Blackfoot, Marshall Tucker band, CCR, soooo many and its just the 70s. 60s motown, 80s hair bands and others like van halen, Motley crue, skid row, Aerosmith, Madonna, Whitney Houston, 90s r&b with early rap. Then it ended.

This was my first time on your channel. Your emotion and honesty stopped me in my tracks. I was sorry when the song and your comments were over. I’m nearly 64 years old and a solid part of the group you mentioned as being fortunate to hear and see songs and bands like this when they originally happened. Yes, we had a great time and for a couple decades. But it is also really fun to be part of the generation that has found reactors such as yourself and re-live these things through fresh eyes and ears. It’s a heart-warming occasion when young people such as yourself experience these songs (hundreds of them) for the first time and feel or react very much like we all did 40-50 years ago. Think about this: being born in late 1959, I was exactly twice as old when the 70s ended as I was when they began. Age 10 in 1970; age 20 at the end of 1979. I went away (far away) for high school at age 15. The things I saw, heard, and learned amounted to a sea-change in a young man’s life in just 10 (amazing) years. Now it is your turn. :) Thank you for the contribution you are making. I’ve subscribed and am adding this to my folder of Exceptional Reaction Videos. You did a terrific job with this one!

FYI . . . The singer (Toy Caldwell) did not write the song about himself . . . according to his younger brother Tommy (bass player in the band). It may have been about the experiences of a friend of his or (alternatively) it may have been inspired by all the G.I's in Nam who received unexpected DEAR JOHN letters. If this link still works the colored version is awesome . . . . kzbin.info/www/bejne/fH-Wm3xsoaugfLM
