One of the greatest songs in hip hop history, this track was the one that made me put my Tupac flag down and give the crown to BIG, TOP TIER story telling... "Somebody's Gotta Die" "Niggas Bleed" and obviously "I got a Story to Tell" "I Don't Wanna Live No More" on Ready to Die too. A real lyrical exercise on here though is that "Last Day" with the LOX

There were only 2 characters speaking in the first verse Blanco and Frank aka biggie If you listen to the way the song is rapped in play form every character speaks when it’s their turn .. I said all that to say the only words Frank said in the first verse was I promise ( when he said but of course you know I had my fingers crossed) he did that in in head verbally for the listener but in real time his fingers were crossed when he said I promise… just like when Frank said (think about it now that’s one point five I kill ‘em all I’ll be set for life) he didn’t verbally say that in real time he was giving the listener a picture of what he was visioning that’s why the very next line was when Blanco said “Frank pay attention “ cause he was day dreaming while Blanco was giving him the instructions

Biggies alter ego was "frank white". He made the story up bro speaking from Frank's view. The best story teller for sure.

Yo once again I appreciate the reaction I knew you would enjoy this is one of the best storytelling and rap. He had bars flow the beat was fired the hook was incredible. As a young man I thought the first verse was a conversation with himself not realizing he's talking to a boss Blanco whose sending him on a mission. This is not a true story so he's not really snitching on himself however I got a story to tell is a true story more than likely little over-exaggerated though. I don't think it's quite as good as this one but definitely a classic song from Biggie you should check out.
