I am a 59 year old who was raised on rock and roll and metal. Obviously, for many years, all I have had is the stuff from way back and mostly nothing new that has that sound. Then along comes The Warning. These girls have brought me back to those days with their fresh but classic approach to rock/metal. They also produce some of the cleanest music live that I have not heard since the likes of Heart, Journey, Def Leppard, Metallica, Muse and the like. I also wanted to tell you that I appreciate the fact you read comments and that you mostly do not stop the song, you just speak over it when you have something to inject. Helps keep the rhythm flowing and the talk is good because that is why we are here...lol

"Amour" dives into the messy, intense side of love-the kind that’s equal parts passion and destruction. The title, French for "love," perfectly fits the song’s exploration of a relationship that’s as much about pain as it is about passion. It reflects the duality of love and hate coexisting, as shown in lines like "Life is better when broken, you get just what you think you should," which capture the idea of embracing chaos in their connection. The French lyrics-"Je t'aime pour toujours, Mon coeur est tien, Je te déteste, amour de ma vie, Je ne mens pas, je t'adore" ("I love you forever, My heart is yours, I hate you, love of my life, I’m not lying, I adore you")-say it all. It's love and hate intertwined, neither able to exist without the other. Pau was inspired to write the song after watching Ratatouille. There’s this scene where a couple is arguing in a completely unhinged way-they’re shouting, and at one point, there’s even a gun involved. But suddenly, all that anger flips into a heated kiss. It’s chaotic and intense but oddly tender in its own way. That energy is exactly what Pau captured in "Amour." It’s not about clean, perfect love-it’s about the kind that makes you bleed but also makes you feel alive.

For anyone curious, the French lyrics are "Je t'aime pour toujour, mon coeur est tien. Je te deteste, amour de ma vie. Je ne mens pas, je t'adore." = "I love you forever, my heart is yours. I hate you, love of my life. I'm not lying, I adore you." :)

Love that you're doing a full run of a concert. Their 3 major concerts (IE the ones they released on their channel) are each a full journey worth going on, and then there is all the rest, which is equally as good. Yes, I basically said nothing but "They're good". What else can you say?

Pau got the core inspiration for the lyrics from a short sequence in the animated film Ratatouille.. where they characters alternately hug and shout at each other... Also hence the french (and french being 'the language of love')

I am not sure if you are aware but this excellent band has a concept album, Queen of the Murder Scene. It is a story of unreturned love, obsession, murder and madness. It is told through a prologue song and four chapters of three songs each. It is well worth listening to this albums songs in order as that way you get the full impact! If you want a live performance the Lunario concert on their YT channel is where they did the live debut of this album. (As a note they interspersed some songs from their first album XXI Century Blood between the chapters and prologue.)

I Amour the %$@ outa ‘Amour’🫶🫶🫶. It’s the full package. Those monster drums, the epic bass line, the fabulous guitar sustain, Dany’s vocals & everyone’s harmonies. Perfection. & it also shows the creativity of their writing, it was inspired by a 15 second throw-away scene from Ratatouille. Everything is inspiration.

“I’m a sucker for this bass line” Awesome. It is great and drives the song. Not hard to learn. It took me about 15-20 minutes to learn it and the next day I was able to play along with the bassless tracks on KZbin. And it teaches you the importance of playing the octaves.

The interesting thing about the French lyrics is these young ladies know very little French, at least when they wrote the lyrics. And the interesting thing about the audience singing along with the French lyrics is they were overwhelmingly Mexican but nailed them anyway. That tells us something about the dedication of The Warning's fan base.

AMOUR is a Great example of DANY-FACE. DANY-FACE is a Thing…
@BryceKatz14 күн бұрын
The thematic through line of ERROR (the album, not the song) is the wrongness of things in society. With that in mind, I'll argue that "AMOUR" isn't about love at all. The relationship described in the song is toxic. At best it's unhealthy codependence. At its worst - and we get to the worst - we're looking at manipulation and outright control. The last line isn't a question. It's a command: DIE FOR ME.
