Ace, I love Three Dog Night so much. So glad that you checked them out. I was just a little kid in the late sixties and early seventies, but at that time so many people just loved them because they were great musicians and just the fantastic singing ability all around, and they wrote and covered really interesting material. It use to be when it was cold at night, you'd let your dog sleep in your bed to keep you warm. A Three Dog Night meant that it was extremely cold, so you needed 3 dogs to keep you warm!

I've been away for a while -- no reason - but great to catch up with you on this song, Ace! It is a fabulous one. This band had such great vocals. Lots more good ones by them, Ace -- "Eli's Comin'", "Out in the Country", "Just an Old-Fashioned Love Song" are some of my favorites. Not sure if you know -- their name refers to REALLY cold nights -- one where you would need to be surrounded by the fur and body warmth of 3 dogs, (not 1 or 2) to keep warm if you found yourself stuck outside for the night.

The late Corey Wells on lead vocals. They had 3 lead singers and would take turns on lead. They were good harmony singers. Chuck Negron and Danny Hutton were the other two. Corey was my favorite.
