Well if that happens, I would be surprised, as most of my North American reactions so far have got very low views. Scroll through my videos and you will see what I mean...unsure how/ why this is the case but so far it is. I am in Canada myself & still pretty new here to KZbin so the algorithm thing is a bit of a mystery to me

@@AngelDReacts Do at least a couple more Tool reaction videos to really chum the waters. Tool fans love watching these reaction videos. I've been listening to them since '92. They are one of my favorite bands. Try reacting to 46&2 and The Grudge. Always do lyric videos since their official videos can be distracting. I would be surprised if you don't get a lot of views. Yes Maynard is a most unusual front man for a rock band. He is shy and his eyes are light sensitive so he often performs live with out a spotlight on him in the shadows not facing the crowd. You just got to love that about him and the band that they can still put off a great show despite this and the fans love it.

I remember when this music festival took place, I was 20yrs old, in 1993....TOOL kicked a*^.... Side note: the lead singer is a US Army veteran who did SO well in Basic, AIT school, etc etc, that the Dept of the Army, in the D.O.D., offered him a full ride scholarship to the most prestigious military academy on the planet, that being West Point, an offer that he turned down to follow his dream of being a professional musician....I'm a US Army combat vet, deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan, and I've never heard of a recruit being offered any level of scholarship funding to attend West Point, THAT is how high his leadership skills, dedication, moral, and test scores were....#LegendStatusAcheived

I would suggest Lateralus by Tool and audio only as fan made videos are very distracting most of Tool songs are much better as audio only IMO

Actually there are a few songs that without the video the song doesn’t hit as well if it’s the only audio video. Forty Six & Two hits a lot better with the video that explains the shadow self and the thinking behind Carl Jung’s Philosophical thinking of that. The video with those lyrics is epic. Also Parabol/Parabola has an epic video that once again makes hearing the song a more euphoric experience. Right in Two has an amazing video using stop motion that explains what Angels are experiencing watching gods creation mankind from creation to destruction. But you guys are right because videos like the one for Schism is weird and distracting.

Everyone is different but my favourite way to listen to Tool is to go into a dark room away from distractions, close my eyes and always put on headphones. Every bit of my attention is needed and the reward is profound. They are an amazing rabbit hole that is very addictive. Amazing musicians! Enjoy your journey of discovery.

@@AngelDReacts And just clarify, Adam Jones is Tool's guitar player. Every Tool fan will tell you to first listen to an audio only, or at most to a lyrics video and never to the video clip because they can be very distracting. However Tool as some of the best video clips around and they've all been produced by Adam Jones, since previously to Tool he worked in Hollywood doing special effects for big blockbusters like Jurassic Park and Terminator. Tool's video clips are epic, but at the same time some can be a bit disturbing. The Witness, that Dan mentioned, is the video presention from Adam's signature guitar from Gibson. The musical arrangement was obviously composed by Adam but it features the other two current Tool members on their respective instruments, being Justin Chancelor on bass and Danny Carey on drums.

The explicit message in the lyric is about the the anguish of addiction (to alcohol), but I think it may apply as well across the range of behavioral addiction from every quarter. I saw TOOL live 3 times during this era. The deal is, Maynard suffered from severe stage anxiety. The only way he could get through their early performances was by shutting his eyes off and "crawling inside his own head." He never blinked once onstage the 3 shows I saw. He literally was not seeing anyone in front of him. There are numerous examples of him performing entire shows with his side band "A Perfect Circle" with his back to the crowd, much to the audience's dismay. To this day at TOOL concerts, Maynard stands at the back of the stage with minimal lighting on him. Usually dressed in costume as well. The last time I saw them he had full riot gear on.
