One thing that makes Twenty One Pilots so great is that they don't belong to any one genre of music. They don't put themselves in a box so it's really hard to classify them lol

This is one of my favorites. The lyricism and imagery are fantastic. Tyler loves using metaphors, and you’re right, he wasn’t talking about a headache, but the war within his mind. He has struggled with mental health issues and suicidal thoughts, so he uses music as a way to fight against the darkness and the negative thoughts. He also uses it as a way to remind himself and others that we aren’t alone in this struggle. That theme carries through much of their music. I also love how they pair dark lyrics with really uplifting music. And he provides words of encouragement that have positively impacted many lives.

There's a huge difference between a creator and a performer. We are in a time where a lot of performers are not themselves the creators. Often times a person who excels at one isn't very good at the other. Tyler is an amazing example of the total package! He writes/composes/engineers/performs everything at such a masterful level, except the drums which he leaves to the very capable Josh.
@TheAnticorporatist2 жыл бұрын
He actually writes the drum parts too. Josh just plays them. If you check some of the old videos you’ll see that Tyler is quite a capable drummer in his own right.
@jasonlebeau12882 жыл бұрын
@@TheAnticorporatist That would fall under composing. Thanks for clearing it up for anyone who didn't catch that. I'm aware Tyler can drum, however, of all the things he is amazing at, Josh is by far the superior drummer whereas Tyler is superior at all the other aspects of the music making process. Josh is easily one of the best drummers alive today and I was just making sure he got his due credit.

Couple things: 1. this is the best version of the song - period, as their live versions over album - the album was not as visceral. 2. Had to go back and check but this is inverted (copywrite issues or something) - I believe Josh does play the high hat left handed sometimes but the piano is also backwards. Either way TOP is underrated overall if you thought they were a pop band... but I think in the last 5 years they are considered A+...at least Tyler's rap talents and writing style and production
@Deltron30312 жыл бұрын
Tyler has stated in the past, including within song lyrics (Heavydirtysoul) that rapping is just a vehicle to deliver his message quickly and in a poetic style how he writes it rather than singing out the entire track. His rapping accents on older albums is a bit derivative sounding IMO, but he really has grown into his own personal cadence the last few albums and Tyler does now pass as someone who could make an entire solid-sounding rap album.

Migraine was the first song I heard of theirs too. Was struggling with migraines at the time and looked up songs specifically about them. This is the only song that resonated with me. Especially the part that revolves around islands of violence inhabited by gore soaked lions. That entire section describes my experience with migraines so perfectly. As for the versions, I loved them all, but there's one in particular that I have a soft spot for. The little toy piano version. Might not be the best musically (not enough drums/Josh), but the video was so on point. Life going on like normal, some people noticing but not really caring, while Tyler is so focused on nothing but getting his thoughts out on how migraines make him feel. With sunglasses on with sun shining through the leaves of trees. That's a mood, a migraine mood indeed. From start to finish.

I don't know what people are saying negative stuff about this version My guess is that they're all just sheep who need the overproduced perfection of studio music to enjoy it I personally love the imperfections that's what makes it real This specific live performance is one of the greatest things twenty One pilots has ever done any time you can find a video from this specific performance it's phenomenal To quote Tyler himself "don't trust a perfect person, and don't trust a song that's flawless" A++ song react and content thx you sir ( more T0P plz)
