"Feel Special" is a meaningful and personal song for the members about their struggles and pressure of fame. In interviews, they also hope that the lyrics will serve as inspiration for ONCE during difficult times from feeling like nobody to somebody. That's why we love all the OT9! Bonus: the colorful umbrella that Dahyun was holding is the symbol of TWICE's candybong. When ONCE supports TWICE, as in the rain, they can overcome many obstacles.

Many people have commented on the meaning, but I thought I'd add my Patch to the Patchwork Quilt of understanding you might get. Jin Young Park, the founder of JYP company (Twice's company), wrote this song, and he wrote it *for* or *because of* the members. They were going through tough times, and at least one member - Mina (in the forest in video) - had actual anxiety problems. So JYP asked the members about times they'd felt stressed or sad, and then what made them feel better, and then he wrote this song. I don't _Think_ it's about romantic love, but I guess it could be. My interpretation is that the members are either singing about eachother; they see eachother as a family, and truly do love eachother. They created a very special bond in their TV show where TWICE Was created: SIXTEEN. But if they're Not singing about other members, They've said themselves that they're singing about their fans, ONCEs. There are all kinds of interpretations to be made from the song and video, but bottom line is that it's a very meaningful song, and I think they really hit the mark if they were trying to make us listeing feel better. Also this rap is one of my favorites in any Twice song, Dahyun Killed it. Also Also, It seems God Jihyo (gee- hyo) picked you to bias her. It's a good pick, she looks absolutely radiant in that white outfit, so it's going to be intersting to see how this develops in future videos if you plan on watching more of TWICE. x)

You are right about the meaning of the song. I believe it is about the group members themselves being there for one another. Also, the member you pointed out as your bias is also my bias! That's Jihyo! She is the leader of the group, and such a great vocalist and performer. But, you're also correct in saying that choosing a bias in Twice is difficult. Which is interesting because they are such a large group. So you would think some people would get lost in the mix. But, they all seem to stand out in their own way.

This song DOES have a great meaning and you got it, it’s primarily about how the members are there for one another when it’s hard. I think Mina (Chaeyoung) was going through a rough time with anxiety and such when they were promoting an era around this time and the team was there for her. Onces can chime in; I’m not 100% on the details, but yeah. Yeah this is my view on it too. All The members of Twice were going throught tough times (probably because of their hectic schedule) and especially Mina was having it extra hard, so JYP himself hoped to write a song to help them through it. He talked to the members about their situations, both present and past, and about things they were stressed/sad about, and because they were honest, he was able to make a very touching song. According to the members, the song is either about ONCE, about their loved ones, or about the members themselves. They often don't have anyone else to lean on, so the members make each other feel better. I don't think it's about Romantic Love at all, though it could definitely be spun that way too. :)

For the MV, the members get to pick their partners for the feel special moments. Here are some thoughts and back stories. Chaeyoung/Mina We see Chaeyoung feeling alone and trapped inside a white featureless dome in the middle of nowhere. However, we see a few missing tiles that give hints to the outside world. Later, we see Mina hiding in a dark forest and struggling to find things that are meaningful, including herself. This is especially impactful as Mina left TWICE for a period of time to deal with her mental health and not knowing if she can return. As the 2 lost members are drawn together, the barrier disappears as Chaeyoung and Mina found each other. Tzuyu/Momo We see Tzuyu as a beautiful and perfect doll. We almost expect her not to be real. She barely move and has to sit and always look pretty. She is not allowed to make any mistake. Just right after TWICE debut, Tzuyu found herself in a firestorm over the national flag incident that was not her fault. At only age 16, the then timid Tzuyu was made to read an apologetic message on video and bowed repeatedly to her critics. To this day, it still breaks my heart to watch that video. In the MV, we see Momo serving as a huge presence and protector in Tzuyu's life. Someone that gave her warm and comfort. Sana/Dahyun Sana is often regarded as the bubbly and cheerful member of the group. Here, we are presented another side as someone that's feeling insignificant and tired. She sat alone on the curb during a downpour while strangers ignore and pass her by. At age 15, Sana moved to Korea from Japan to pursue her idol dream. Often time, she was without her family. In the monotony setting, Dahyun appears to her like a burst of colors with a radiant smile and support that dispel the drabness. Sana is the only child and would often describe other members as like her family. Jihyo/Nayeon In 2019, Jihyo found herself in a malicious rumor over a supposedly secret video with a male idol. The accusation was salacious and caused her much pain and anxiety. In later years, she opened up about battling depression and fear during that difficult period. In the MV, Jihyo is surrounded by cyber-bullies in the monitors that used words to stab and bring her down. However, Nayeon appears onscreen to shield her from all the bullies. At the time, Nayeon was also dealing with a serious stalker that threatened her. Got so bad that the company had to file a criminal complaint. Jeongyeon She is seen as the strong member of the group that is not afraid to speak her mind. In the MV, she does not have a partner, but when she sees herself surrounded by her happy and laughing members, she knows that she is in the right place. So sometimes, you have to look within and find the strength of self-love. It was a message that Jeongyeon wanted to convey to ONCE. More recently, she had to go on hiatus due to her neck injury, which required surgery, from all the practices and shows. However, she worked hard for her comeback during the world tour and often received the loudest cheers from the appreciative fans.

This is a very interesting, but also really accurate analysis of what I think is happening in the video! Very insightful comment! :D I'd like to add to it, that your comment made me realize that the members they "paired up" actually have a lot in common; or at least similar struggles. With MiChaeng, they're both more shy and introverted than not, and they both struggle with expressing themselves, Chaeng wants to express herself artistically, but is held back by the more "sqaure" k-pop industry. (Covering up her tattoos etc.) And Mina has trouble literally expressing herself, both in that she's very quiet as a person, but also that she might hold back her actual thoughts because she cares so much about the "harmony" in the group, and she doesn't want to create a "kerfuffle". Them being "Lost" is a very good metaphor, and it's cool and sweet that they found each other at least. With Tzuyu and Momo I think your interpretation is very accurate. I would Like to add that both Momo and Tzuyu are very scrutinized when they're on stage. Tzuyu always has to look perfect (being a doll), and Momo's dancing has to be perfect because she's the Dancing Machine. I think they both deal with that pressure admirably, but I can definitely see how it might affect them. And I also think Tzuyu is so small because she's the youngest member, literally the "smallest" member to make it into the group. Like you said, She was literally 16 when Twice formed. And Momo being so well known makes her almost "bigger" than she is, and she constantly has to fill those shoes. With Sana and Dahyun, I also agree with you description of Sana, but I think it also works for Dahyun. Apparently Dahyun is very different when she's on stage/shows and when she's in the dorm just hanging out. I don't think she's being fake on stage, but I think she brings out her "stage personality" more then. Both Sana and Dahyun are expected to be entertaining all the time. They're invited onto shows by themselves (Sana on Happy Together, and Dahyun on Weekly idol), and they've had so many memes and things done around them that they're the unofficial "Variety Queens", and that has to be a lot of pressure too. To always be "on" and funny. With Nayeon and Jihyo, they both struggle with being "senior" in the group. Nayeon being the "Face" of the group and Jihyo being the "Voice". Nayeon having to take care of the younger members since she's the oldest, and also putting a good face forward, representing the group as a whole. And Jihyo literally being the Leader, speaking at press events, and having to take the "blame" if something goes wrong. In dance practices and behind the scenes videos, Jihyo is often seen "wrangling" the members and getting them to shape up when they make mistakes. She's nice about it, but I'm sure she feels pressure form that too. In some ways they Jihyo and Nayeon have even More of the "Spot Light" on them than the other members. And I agree with your thoughts on Jeongyeon. you said basically everything I wanted to say so I won't add much here x) I think it's self-love and seeing the other members as a part of you that's always there. However, I have followed TWICE since 2017 and this is my conclusion to possible meanings for the MV through reading interviews and watching behind the scenes. Your bias Jihyo, on the Audition Survival program that put the band together underwent harsh criticism for being "overweight". JYP himself said "Your dance looks slow. If you gain weight, of course you’ll look like that. The first thing that I do when I get up in the morning is get on the scale. While the other girls practice their singing, you have to lose weight." Live on TV. It pissed me off when I first watched it but Jihyo took it with more dignity than I ever would. She's such a strong person for withstanding some of the most toxic hate I've ever seen. And she's such a beautiful person, inside and out.

I think you're pretty spot on about TWICE. I think Chaeyoung comes in with the rapping really shined brightest in this performance. With 9 members they are really throwing things at you in a fast rate. It's a barrage. But even with that many members you have to admit they sound great! They always sound great! So whomever is putting it all together is doing good job. Just like other girls groups, they get attacked in media. To single one member out and really go after them seems to be a thing. And your bandmates will stick up for you,.. it comes out in their music too. I think this sort of criticizing & trolling is much more on young women trying to have a career, than on male stars.

Twice Feel Special something meaningful to twice and once. On this era, Twice and Once suffer for losing Mina due to anxiety. Mina was a japanese member of twice who don't really show up back then. Mostly people don't give much attention as she does because she is a introvert person. She barely talk and have much screen time. Not only Mina, but on Twice I can't stop me, Twice lost Jeongyeon also due to anxiety. This truly hit Once.

Also have to add that this pop music sound from Twice in particular is very old school American in a way, don't you think? Just like the British invasion in the 60s was our original Rock N Roll music coming back at us from a different culture. A lot of K-pop sometimes sounds like our older pop music coming back at us,... from a different culture. They are doing our type of stuff better than we are now.
