@@Rangeray... It's pretty hard to mistake a Dominican for a Haitian. The language, for one, is a dead giveaway. Even if they have Spanish it sounds like French. Beyond that, people have to eat. If you have no empathy for the problems that have plagued Haiti- that certainly speaks to your character. It's a shame the Dominican people can't show the same hospitality and patience with Haitians as say, the Colombians show the Venezuelans. People in a bad way survive however they can.

At the tres ojos lake cabes, you can go to the larger lake that you show last by using the 🛥️ that you show earlier. So when you saw that downstairs, you go and they ask for $5 pesos to bring you across the lake (the one that didn't have sun, the second one you showed). They bring you across and is very big, you missed 1/2 of the trip, the lake there is bigger, it has fish and you can see marks of the natives that were there before colonials arrived. Its pretty cool. Also to answer about swin in the lake. In the past yes, you were allowed, so that the lake called las damas was just for girls, the lakes were separated by gender when it was allowed to use, so its believe that was before the 1900's. Now we don't want it to get polute by people, so its no allowed to keep it clean. :)

Amazing architecture, different, unique and well preserved. Noted a sign on the gates dating back to 1523. Clever use of corals, blending with the bricks, never seen this before. It was nice to see where and how Christopher Columbus lived. He was a real pioneer. Your presentations are excellent, packed with a lot of data. I enjoy it very much. Thank you to you and your glamorous wife 👍🏻

So glad you liked la Zona Colonial. You will love Samana, beaches are gorgeous and the architecture is a mix of Victorian and Cocola ( African descendants originally non Hispanic). The most famous church would be the St. Peter also known as La Chorcha. If you are visiting beaches Las Terrenas and Playa Isla Cayo Levantado is a must, also playa Las Galeras, Punta Bonita, Playa Coson, El Portillo, Playa Rincon, Playa El Valle, Boca del Diablo/ Playa El Fronton and the waterfall Salto del Limon. Also, the national parks are Los Haitises and Cabo Cabron. I'm from a small town called Bonao and my family had a house in Las Terrenas, thought you might enjoy these places if they are not part of your itinerary yet.

Hi Heidy - my friend and I will be visiting your beautiful country in the next couple of weeks. Are there any safety precautions we should be aware of for two women traveling around all of the areas you call out above?
@heidyfrias31583 жыл бұрын
@@bickismit Hi Bickismit, the Dominican Republic is pretty safe for tourist overall, crime rates are similar to other Caribbean destinations, but I do understand your concerns since being a woman and traveling alone or with another female friend can pose risks in most countries. As for risks usually we tell all our tourist to look out for petty crimes, don't flash an expensive cell phone, jewelry, high dollar(or any other currency) purses or anything that will attract attention to your person. Would recommend crossbody purses, small to carry some money and your phones or documents that you may need, some areas will be safe after dark because of the touristic nightlife but mainly stick to well lit main roads whenever possible and do not go exploring after dark unless in a large group with a tour guide. If you are planning to stay in Santo Domingo in the Colonial Zone, most areas are fine to walk in and explore without problems since these areas have a lot of tourist exploring the old city. There is also presence of our touristic police and the crime rates are normally pretty low in the area. If you need transportation I recommend the shuttle transfer services from the airport that are in the tourist systems, public transport is also good if you know were your are headed and taxis, can use Uber as well . If staying in an all inclusive hotel, they provide the transportation, stay in the hotel area and explore with the help of the hotel services, they usually have great tour plans to multiple places, including places to visit, site see, clubs at night and you can even go shopping if you would like. They can provide you with itineraries that you can choose from and do what you want. If you are backpacking and looking for adventure I can make some recommendations of places to travel too that are safe for tourist. You may encounter a lot of people trying to charge you extra for things and wanting to get extra cash from you without really giving a good service as well, this is unfortunate but our government has not made it into a law that tourist cannot be charged extra for the same services that locals receive. Hope you have a safe and wonderful trip, enjoy and if you like beer "Presidente" is the best one. Take care.

DR is a beautiful country!!!! I can't wait to visit the country. Thank you for showing me a glimpse of this wonderful country!!!! What places would you recommend to visit when you go out to Santo Domingo? Restaurants (if you ate at any)?
@felixsuarez45313 жыл бұрын
If you're staying in the capital city, the Zona Colonial would be a nice place. You'll find hotels, historic sites, and restaurants (it's hard to say which ones are the best; it will depend on your taste, but there's a bit of everything). If you walk around, you'll find you'll find something you'll love. But you can also visit the Polígono Central, which is the modern area of the city. Adrian Tropical is a nice restaurant, and there are many others. If you want to see some nice beaches, I'd recommend Samana, either the Cayo Levantado beach or any of the beaches in Las Galeras; there are many and they are not crowded. Las Terrenas, Puerto Plata, Cabarete, Sosua, and Punta Cana are very nice towns, but a bit more lively; hence, crowded.

We still can get and spread covid (whichever variant) even vaccinated. It only minimizes the chances of getting very sick, going into hospital or worse dying of it. So far from your videos, Portugal and Cabo look very interesting. But travel is off the table for now hopefully until next year.
