What a wonderful paradise. And I hate to say this but I had many dominican friends in nyc and none of them talked about how beautiful this country really is. I went to other places in Latin America and Europe but nothing compare to the friendly and warm people, the Easy living and stress free. This is the best place in the Caribbean. They should give DR more credit and as a hot spot for vacationers. Great video!

Hi Aida. Quite true. A lot of Domininican don’t speak about how beautiful is the country. I think this is because it’s what they know, take it for granted, and most Dominican dream of coming to the USA. Most of these Dominicans had challenging lives back there due to economic means. However, with the passage of time, they do realize that what they had in the Dominican Republic is more favorable to what they have year. Most Dominicans have a wish to go back home upon retiring. I know. I’m one of them.

Great video! 👍💥👍 1 little discrepancy that I noticed, and I don't mean to nitpick but, you noted that the DR has a population of 10.3 million. Then, shortly after, you went on to say that Santo Domingo contains 1/2 of the island's population, with 3 million residents in the city and surrounding suburbs. I'm not a mathematician, but I do know that 3 million isn't half of 10.3 million. It's not even a 1/3 of the population. Aside from that tiny, unintentional mistake, I really enjoyed this video. I may be moving there in the not too distant future, so I really appreciate how informative and well produced your video was. KUDOS! 🤜🔥🤛

Hey, if you add a few figures in terms of monthly or long term housing rental, furnished or unfurnished that would give people idea an approx cost of living. You could start with the best value in your opinion in which region and count down from that.

@@HectorGarcia-nb2ld Puerto Rico is not part of America? The question is valid- why would Americans not choose an island which is more connected to the USA? No rules, no law. Cops non existent if anything happens to you as a foreigner and bad things will happen, Loud music at night non stop and there is nothing you can do about it. Locals stop you every second to bother you and try to steal what you have, Expensive health care, In fact, they won't even touch you until you pay big money. The best is to go a to more reputable country.

Historical as it is now days for us Dominicans because of facts that Cristobal Colon was first to established a city in the island, and named La Española; first oficial court, hospital, cathedral, street, fort, alcanzar, ect. From the island Spaniards moved on to the main lands, and islands around colonizing the American continents. That’s history.

My daughter and her family have lived there two years. Moved around a bit. Unreliable power. Goes out every day. Even if you have a generator that too can go out. Their water supply goes out as well. Water supply has gone out at least 8 times in last 5 months. Electric is very exspensive. Its cheap to live here for a reason. They are living presently in Caberate. Just got back in Oct 2022. I stayed two weeks. My family pay on the average 1000 a month rent for two bedroom. They have rented three times in three different towns.Health care is not good nor the school system. Even most private schools are not good. Trash everywhere. Trash is just overlooked. I was there right after present hurricane and trash was washed up on the beaches everywhere. A family member came from US to get dental work and had to come back to get teeth fixed. Two trips so far for dental work. I would rather pay more here. You better have good auto unsurance, Driving here has NO rules. I mean NO RULES. I will say it again It is cheap here for a reason. I saw older white people here from Germany Canada USA paying the Dominicans dirt cheap money for services. Thats kinda sad to me. Pay what the service is worth so the people can feed their families. They deal in cash mainly to hide their income from the government. Lots of rules when staying at a resort. I could not bring my family to my room and I had to pay for them to swim with me at the resort every day. I was watched closely. My family found out that Hatians are not treated very well. My son in law in African American and mistook for Hatian many times and not always treated well. I found the people in Caberete very warm and kind. Beaches are beautiful even with the trash. You will get harrast by vendors. I mean HARRAST! Worst I have ever seen.
