First Time In The USA.. I Caught A Special Fish

Good times on the USA family holiday! Had a blast exploring the west cost with the family then headed over to Florida to catch my first American fish. This one has sentimental value BIG TIME for me. Hope you enjoy... and its good back on the tube🤙

Congrats on your first largemouth! Florida strain at that. So glad you're having fun. I hope you enjoyed it! On a side note, bass wise it's only largemouth in Florida. The furthest south I think I've ever seen a smallmouth is in the rivers and reservoirs of Northern Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi. Right on or near their borders due to the Tennessee River system and in northern Alabama and Georgia, the mountains that help keep the water cooler. Smallmouth are a mid to cold temperature species in my opinion. Largemouth are super flexible and they range throughout nearly all of North and Central America. Florida is my old stomping grounds and I'm so happy you got to experience it. Since we've got venomous snakes, giant pythons, sharks, crocs and alligators, it's not a far cry from your home country in the fishing hazards department. Glad you could squeeze in some fishing and I hope you get to experience more of what the US and it's fisheries have to offer!

Brother there in Florida there are some king size bass. 15-18 pounds are not unheard of. I live in Louisiana and we have some outstanding bass lakes here also. Enjoy your trip and come back cause we have big fish of every sort and you can’t catch them in a week. Enjoy

Greetings Rod!! Welcome to America (I hope you, and the fambalam felt welcomed at least!) I really enjoyed watching you get sentimental when you were talking about your KZbin beginnings, and I am so thrilled for you getting to catch such a special trip for you. In regards to the epic road trip across the country, that still may happen later in the calendar...I'm in Colorado, and would love to host you for a stop on your journey through to Washington State. And we can do some legendary trout fishing in the Rocky Mountains, before you eventually drive through them soon afterwards, ultimately crossing the Continental Divide (The elevation high point of the continent, that divides the land, and the water shed....a division line of altitude, where every drop of moisture on one side of the divide eventually drains to the Pacific Ocean, and every drop on the other side of the divide eventually drains to the Atlantic Ocean. You can literally stand on the divide, and take a piss....and send half your stream eastward to the Atlantic...and half westward to the Pacific. IF you were so inclined. LoL.) ....where you'll then continue the last leg of your trip to the Pacific North West. We could also target several other American species like Smallmouth Bass, Walleye, Largemouths, etc, etc if you wanted to, and had the time. I happen to be a Walleye tournament angler, and they happen to be the best eating fish in our country. Anyways. just a thought...attached to an invitation. Tight Lines my friend!!
