I think the video and choreography were really catchy, but you can tell they are thriving on cultural appropriation, those reggae sounds and rap plus the aesthetics were mainly black culture. It’s amazing how Koreans are extremely racist and jealous of anyone coping their culture and aesthetics but all they do is thrive of off black creations and never give credit, that Teddy producer definitely grew up listening and mimicking the black music culture and it shows in almost every BP music songs and videos, the mannerisms and copying is so obvious, some people think these girls are the “queens” of swag and rap but they are far from that, I say they are popular mainly due to a large Asian fan base, and Lisa catapulting it to international interest. The song was entertaining, the video was entertaining but I am not happy with the hypocrisy in K-pop. Thanks to black culture they are where they are but won’t admit it and will pretend they were never influenced by it. I hope the K-pop marketing one day dies off, they have a lot of money to pay for their popularity worldwide and pay to reach to many audiences, they steal and thrive on black influence, they are culture vultures, but they wont fool everybody, some of us know they low key admire black culture but hate black people because of the color of their skin, I am a mixed girl and I stand 100% with my black side, they are color obsessed, that’s why the phrase: BORN PINK on their album. I hate the hypocrisy of these people, black people should start being like those Asians who support their own heavily to the point of obsession, maybe that way, we can stop making other cultures rich of off our creative minds, we are the #1 trendsetters and the real creators of cool and swag culture.

Every Kpop group has their own concept. Blackpink’s concept is “Girl crush”. It’s a mixture of Hiphop, EDM, pop. They are also know for having music that sounds like it’s different songs, in one. But They all blend in perfectly though. They also sing, & rap in multiple languages, English, Korean, Japanese. They also don’t use any Green screen in their MV’s. All sets, & explosions, are real.

Yeah in KPop its common to pay homage to Western music culture. KPop encompasses a lot of different genres of music. There is even metal in KPop. Hi, new here, came for the Blackpink reaction. Loved your comments and thoughts as you watched. Kpop is not really a pop genre but just the Korean popular music industry. It includes various genres and often a group will mix them up within one song. The production value is always high and it's a super vibrant and fun world to explore. Each group usually, but not always, will have a couple of members who are more vocal focused while another few will be rap focused or dance focused etc... Some groups have multitalented members who will be able to switch between rapping and singing like the air they breathe. It's an exciting rabbit hole to jump into and you'll see the fans will find you and dump all the group info and love in your comments for checking out their favourite groups. They also often will have dance practice videos for each song, which you could check out too, if you're into that. They create dedicated choreos for each song, so it's always fun to watch them perform. They train for years before they are deemed (by their label company) good enough to debut, so the members are almost always exceptionally talented people in dance, vocals, rapping, and stage presence. Quality of the highest standard from what I've seen. I won't recommend any more songs by BP as I see others have already covered that in the comments. Looking forward to following your journey!
