ON is actually the culmination of the album MOTS7 that is based on carl jungs archetypes. Would be great if you could react to ON explained by DKDKTV theyre a korean channel. The whole mv is abt a resilience, and also accepting your inner shadows and achieving individualism. There are layers of pop cultural references, biblical symbolism (noahs arc, the dove noah let out), the whole album roll out was crazy. This album and song though well loved by the fandom got radio silence from the music industry, even from the ent media, no radio spins playlisting, nothing. BTS even organized a project called connect BTS which spanned around the globe sponsoring artists and their art for free for their fans to engage in, it was two months of celebration of art in different forms.

This MV has a lot of biblical references and movie references the girl blind folded was from the movie bird box, the guy with the tattoo was maze runner like you said. There are a lot more.

This was the video that introduced me to BTS. It was trending on KZbin in February 2020. I was really excited by this mini-movie. Some background about the ending title...No More Dream was BTS's first MV. Another song from their debut album was N.O. ON is flipping those two songs. They have gone through the struggles and they are now on the other side. That is just one layer of this song and MV.

My interpretation (just mine) is that they are all trapped in some kind of post-apocalyptic land, surrounded ("protected") from the desolate landscape outside the walls. Then there is an uprising of some kind (the battlefield) and maybe they thought they lost but Jungkook escaped (and he's like the "Chosen One"). Once he's washed away the thorn bindings on his wrists and blows the horn, the world is transformed. The seven members are freedom fighters and maybe the leaders of a cult focused on making the other prisoners/survivors believe they can be free again (the dance break scene). V uncovers the girl's eyes so she can see the transformation. Everyone still alive or who wants freedom gather at the gate. The big gate opens, you see the world outside comes back to life (the trees all grow and become lush and green), the dove Jin took from the battlefield comes back to life, and they all walk out into this new land. The members climb the big rock to take a good look at the world they are now able to explore. That's my take on it. There's definitely a lot of religious imagery but I think they're saying not to give your belief to those kinds of religions - believe in yourself, fight for what's right, and - like they often say in their songs - the pain you go through will only make you stronger if you accept it as part of the process. "no More Dream" becomes "Dream" because now you are free to make those dreams come true - if you dare.

BTS are presidential special envoys for their country within the UN, have spoken out about racial hatred and crime, have voiced and shown support for the LGBTQ+ community, have done countless campaigns about self love and acceptance, tolerance and equality. They have always had a very clear staple message of love yourself and accept yourself. They believe in justice and fighting for what's right. To celebrate the small wins amidst big losses. Every step forward is a victory regardless of the backstepping that happens before or after. They're inspiring individuals regardless of their music. Their beliefs and morals have always been about acceptance which is a powerful thing. I came for the music, stayed in support of their message.

This is from map of the soul 7 and it was intended that the break" would come, after the world they would have. The break was prosponed bc of covid. But with the break in our minds and the things said in the festa party, ON, Black swan and louder than bombs and more songs on mots 7 make more sense.

I like your interpretation of the MV, but for me, since I was raised Catholic all I saw was the biblical references. The obvious one were: the white dove and Noah's ark; But there is also some references that I personally saw: the people surrounding the walls of Jericho, until they are able to enter the city; there's a tample that resembled a church; Tae is lying down in a cross pose; and finally, when JK blows the horn people are able to enter the city, so it's possible that's another reference to Jericho;

No more dreams is their debut son I think they were signaling to a new chapter of their journey... On is one of my favorite songs of BTS specifically because of the chorus "Bring the pain on" I think it is an important part of my healing journey to understand that sometimes I am not ok and I need to deal with my feelings before trying to pretend to be ok... I hope we help in this moment for you 🤗

I love BTS so I enjoy all of their music. I would recommend you check out Fake Love. (Me making recommendations trying to remember what BTS you've reacted to lol.) Also, they have another video for this song that is definitely worth checking out, 'ON' Kinetic Manifesto Film : Come Prima. I love that one so much. And, yes, there is the whole Bangtan Universe story with them. I'm happy that I didn't get into that until a while after getting into them. As much as I like the BU storyline it would have been too overwhelming to get into that as I got into BTS. Take your time with BTS there is so much to check out.
