If you notice, her band all has various bits of their makeup messed up as well! Smeared eye makeup, lipstick smears, etc. So definitely a deliberate choice!

This performance highlights how really pure her voice is, but it doesn't give you the full effect of what she's like when she's performing in concert. She just performed a Coachella both weekends and from everything I've heard, was listed as one the majors highlights by almost all the critics. There are a couple really really good videos of her performance up on the Coachella channel. There's also a, I'll leave a link. I think the name is Carmen Plau.
