Not a cold chance in hell this be 1rst time any of them are hearing this song. Maybe didnt know which band, but its total bs this is first listen. Song has been on regular rotation @ every rock & pop radio station globaly since about 2002..it was on heavy rotation on mtv when mtv was still a big deal. Snippets were used in movies & shows etc etc. The damn song was mixed w/Jayz encore & created another hit song. Unless they are former Jehova Witnesses who refused to be active members in society for last 20yrs, theyve definitely heard it few times before.

The guy rapping is named Mike Shinoda. Mike Shinoda released a hip-hop ep and album in 2005 under the name Fort Minor. He also released a solo album under his own name called Post Traumatic in 2018. Chester Bennington (blonde) had the voice of an angel and the scream of a demon. His vocal range actually could have rivaled the late Freddie Mercury. Chester could sing any song he wanted to. He had his own band separate from Linkin Park called Dead By Sunrise. Dead by Sunrise released 1 album called Out of Ashes in 2009. In 2017 Chester passed away from suicide on July 20 2017 just 2 months after Chris Cornell passed away from suicide as well. Chris Cornell passed away on May 18, 2017 the day before Linkin Park released wjat would be their final studio album One More.

You would have to know me to know what a high compliment this is. I believe that Linkin Park is my son's generation's Queen. They are sooo talented. It's amazing to experience how the Rap and the vocals intertwine with each other. They're able to create, through having the combination of gut wrenching pain and anger that exist inependentling , separately and simultaneously, an atmosphere that reflectes true to life experience. Much like a Queen song, their the timing, the orgestration, the vocals, leave no room for improvement. They present you with a complete work of art. I know that Chesters passing hit fans hard. I didn't even know who Linkin Park was at that point. I was introducing my son to Queen and he began to introduce me to Linkin Park. I'm glad he did . Now I am sad about Chester's passing too.

Linkin Park is a fantastic band with an amazingly diverse sound within albums and across their career. I really hope you check out more some time, thank you for reacting to this ❤ Regarding the music video, I do think the whale, and the other visuals used here, are mostly an aesthetic choice. But if I had to guess at some symbolism, I'd say that the story Moby Dick made the "white whale" a symbol of something a person obsessively chase after, often to their detriment. Perhaps that meaning could relate to the meaning of the song, which seems to be about a relationship to a person that has fallen apart, despite all the time and effort that was put into it, that now feels wasted?
