The song sweating bullets was inspired by a person who was a friend of Dave’s wife, who apparently was a bit off the wall crazy, that’s it really. Dave himself never suffered from schizophrenia. Megadeth fan 30+ years 🤘

I remember reading somewhere that the idea for this song came from when Dave's wife's friend had a panic attack. Some situation had triggered it. The lyrics of the song itself sound more about depression/anxiety than schizophrenia. Anyway, keep listening to Megadeth! I like watching these reaction videos of my favorite band. I’m the same age as these dudes. Been rocking heavy since the late 70’s. So many young kids reacting to music that’s too complex for them to understand and end up yacking away like they do understand. Here’s the truth; there’s nothing to understand. It’s rock n roll. The message is the energy. That’s all. This young lady gets it though. Her reactions indicate that she feels the music rather than trying to “understand” it. Plug in, crank it up, and rock on! i also dunno if it's true, but i will say i know a few schizos, and this song/video/lyrics are exactly what they've told me being off their meds for long is like. paranoia, feeling boxed in/cornered, hearing voices, feeling like you're having a conversation with yourself but it's not you, or it's a dark mirror version of you that picks at your own insecurities, etc. i always say Megadeth is what metallica would have been if they had stayed true to the thrash roots instead of changing their sound around the black album for more mainstream appeal.

He doesn't have schizophrenia. He went to rehab somewhere around 17 times. Shortly after this album came out , he overdosed on Valium, went into cardiac arrest, was revived, and then was in a coma for 8 days. He also beat throat cancer a couple of years ago

Dave was committed once in Arizona by the band and said he wrote the lyrics to Diadems while in a straight jacket. But I’ve never heard of him being officially diagnosed as having Schizophrenia. Favorite Megadeth video is either 99 Ways to Die or Hangar 18.

The best line is " Once you committed me , now you've acquitted me " . Getting away with murder because he is deemed "crazy" and gets put in a psych ward until he is " better" then possibly released way sooner and that's the best defense you can hope for in a murder case except proven innocent ! Dave mustane isnt schitzophrenic.. he's just highly creative... by the way.. certain parts of the video were filmed in reverse, then also played in revorse to "look normal" yet have something "off" about it ... Dave Mustane revealed on VH1's That Metal Show, however, that the song was inspired by a friend of his girlfriend (and later, his wife), Pam. This friend suffered from anxiety attacks - Mustaine called her "s--thouse crazy." She would take Pam to a party, have an anxiety spell and leave her; Mustaine would get the call and have to pick her up. After Mustaine wrote this song, Pam thought it was about her, but Dave assured her she was "not that crazy." Said Mustaine, "I wrote this song about her nutty friend."
