@areyoureadyforit25083 жыл бұрын
And Taylor MOST OF ALL. These three are very talented songwriters but they're different. Lorde's is blunt, direct and hits you in your face and paired with her nostalgic sonics. Lana's is clever word choice and more academically-inclined as a poet. Her sonics are mellow. Taylor's is all the syntax, catchiness, flow, and the cinematic experience of storytelling.

"And I like you - I like it if you stay" This line from 400Lux gets me everytime, its so soft and vulnerable. Telling them you like them over and over again, and you don't want them to leave, but instead of saying don't leave me, you opted to say "I like it if you stay" i don't know that wording is so adorable and sad at the same time. Cause the possibility of them leaving you eventually is always there but you're hoping that they will stay.

"Buzzcut Season" always reminds me of a college acquaintance of mine who passed away from leukemia. We went to school down in North Carolina, so the weather was still good when he had to shave his head and start treatment in October. He really took it all in stride and his treatment was progressing well, but then in the last three weeks of his life, he took a sudden downward turn before many of us had a chance to say goodbye.

I totally love Lorde!!! I first heard her on September 2013 in a Videoclip program, where they showed Royals and when I heard her voice singing "I've never seen a diamond in the flesh" OMG! I just thought "wow, what a voice". Then after the clip ended I gone straight to KZbin to look for more songs, and I heard Tennis court ❤️ I love her two albums, can't choose between them!

When you are on Melodrama, lyrics wise, I think you'll be able to really discern Melodrama from Pure Heroine - Melodrama has a central theme around being melodramatic (the album is a work of her breakup) while Pure Heroine has a central theme around realism - the realistic aspects in life.
