First Time Loping On Sawny - Ride 3

December 3, 2024 - My third ride on Sawny, and his second time being ridden with a saddle. On this ride we primarily worked on freeing up and moving out. Sawny is pretty feely and responsive to pressure, and put in a really nice session. I’m very happy with this quality coming 2-year-old stud colt!
Riggs helped me out with emotional support for Sawny (not that he needed it) and helped me convince Sawny to move out a little better (which was extremely helpful). Riggs has a great handle on vocal cues, and would listen to me from the back of the other horse. Riggs is getting to be quite the helpful horse to get these youngsters started, especially when I’m by myself. I can ask him to lead me around while I work on getting colts to move out.
